I snagged a pair of these, one for me and one to gift my father. Great feel in the hand and great build, though I wish it had a lock, because it wants to open on its own sometimes.
I've been using the Zing for a couple of years now, both for odd jobs around the house (e.g. opening boxes, stripping wire, sharpening carpentry pencils) and when I go off-grid (e.g. food preparation, cutting rope, cutting errant vegetation too small to use the machete on). It's relatively lightweight but still has the mass to do it's job safely and comfortably. The hinge and lock are still tight and the blade swings out easily and locks into place. It's easy to open with one hand but needs to to close it. Easy to sharpen, which is good because it does need regular sharpening.
I keep this knife around the house for those moments when you just need a simple but reliable knife and so far it has not disappointed. The slim design is great and the blade has been plenty sharp. Great purchase.
I like collecting knives but I rarely bring them out with me. This one, this one I enjoy bringing out with how slim and practical it is for everyday use.
I originally bought this as a gift for my brother but it took longer than usual to arrive so I kept it for myself. This is my first knife that isn't styled like a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. To be honest, I'm a little blown away. I was completely ignorant of the different opening and locking mechanisms found in knives, even the cheap ones.
I mostly use the Kershaw Zing for opening packages and some electrical work / electronics tinkering. I love how it can be opened and closed with one hand. I don't know anything about the different metals used in knives but the blade on mine is still very sharp after nearly a year of light to moderate use.
I have no complaints with it.
My only issue is now I want more knives.
