This fake Andromeda is disgusting. Why does Campfire not do lawsuit on KZ? Just because they fear losing in the Chinese? Doesn't have to be like that. KZ can you stop faking and make some stuff that audiophiles will appreciate?

FiR3KI agree completely with your assessment. I do not have any experience with Campfire, so cannot comment as compared to KZ but have a similar experience elsewhere. My all-time favorite daily IEM is the Velodyne vPulse. The MSRP, before they were discontinued, was $115, with the cosmetically updated version coming in at $119. I am on my third pair because I ran over the first two with my office chair - stupid, I know. I will probably buy another for posterity. I came across a thread on Head-Fi, stating that the DONSCORPIO Bass Colour ($29 on Penon Audio) was the OEM for the vPulse. At first I was ticked, then intrigued. I bought a pair. Suffice it to say they are not in the same league. I am sure the same is true of Campfire vs KZ.

SStasGive them a break, already. The CA Andromeda and KZ ZS6 must have very similar sound qualities; they are both green, after all.

Businesses rip each other’s designs off all the time. Shady is when they are trying to hide things from the consumer. I would call it a lack of original design, not shady.

Alexdre119Depends what market you’re in, I guess... You’re right though, there is a market full of businesses that rip off the visual design cues of higher end products. They get a similar vibe and statement without wearing the risk that the original carries. It speaks volumes about the business and the product itself is usually a shadow of the one it imitates.

It's funny how mad people get over the silliest things, like an exterior design being copied.
Let's be honest, these aren't hurting Campfire Andromeda sales in the slightest so Campfire probably doesn't care at all about this. Chinese companies do this kind of stuff all the time.
Who goes looking to buy earphones that are $1000+ and then stumbles upon a $40 one and thinks they're the same lol

Ya know... part of me wonders if Campfire wouldn't be so unhappy if the knock off were an attempt at actual competition? Flattery by way of copying substance rather than facade. :P

Well you're not the only one that have this opinion on the IE800..
Sound is subjective no doubt, no point in arguing about it, for example if one say the ZS6 is to bright for him i can totally understand, it's a somewhat bright iems.
The $500 was just a reference of mine against all of my over ears headphones, after hearing all of those and know their sound by heart, i feel that the ZS6 is delivering sound that should be on the level of $500 from what i know as what i have costs about retail 1-3K for the pair.. (LCD3/HE1000/Z1R/HD800/TH900 etc..) I'm not saying that there isn't a better iem in the $500 range, I'm sure there is.
The ZS6 doesn't have emphasis bass imo, low end, midrange is pretty balanced, with a slight treble emphasis which brings out nice extra details on top, so i wouldn't call is V shaped at all. kinda balanced with a little salty treble.

It just depends on what is his prioritywith IEMs.
I havent tried P1 so I dont know But in my case the soundstage is first priority.
So I might say Westone UMPro 50 sucks because it has narrow soundstage.
But of course I am exaggerating. It sounds wonderful.

My friend got a pair of these from Amazon a few days ago and today I had a chance to have a listen to them. I own the ZS5 v1 and liked it a lot for its sound but hated the plasticky build, especially after I've owned several campfire IEMs in the past (orion, nova, lyra ii, jupiter, and currently polaris).
Now, the build quality is absolutely amazing for the $40ish he paid for them. The sound is about what you'd expect to get for the price. If you have better IEMs then don't expect these to replace them. I think these are suitable as a 'beater' set suitable for running straight out of a phone or computer. Remember, with more expensive headphones/IEMS you will also need better sources/files/amps to maximize the potential of your set. Otherwise it's almost like buying a HD800S just to listen to bird noises on youtube straight out of your laptop's headphone jack.
As others have mentioned, these do get peaky at around 8khz and 10khz but if you don't think that EQ'ing is a moral crime on the level of human trafficking a 5-7db decrease around those areas will smoothen out the treble. For those who wanna decrease treble without EQ experiment with different tips (I used spinfit) or try the blu-tack mod on the grille of each ear to absorb some treble (you can find this mod all over head-fi).
Honestly I'd pay $40 alone just for the build quality. The sound isn't horrible, and I actually think for the price the bass and mids are quite good. Treble can get sharp but it isn't the worst I've heard. The IE800 and the momentum in ear had more offensive treble to my ears TBH. You are not going to get campfire level sound but you will get a design aesthetic very similar to it. The ZS6's build may be the same as the V1 versions of campfire's IEMs but soundwise it's still a far cry from even the orion.
The only concern I would have for this set is whether KZ pulls the 'ole switcheroo and quietly makes a v2 without telling anyone.

I was just curious, cable looked nice. I don't believe a $500 cables make magic, saw too many blind tests which were all laughable.

MannyAkimI've never tried expensive cables and the only time I change cables from stock is when I'm looking for a better comfort, build quality, or connector for a source (balanced instead of 3.5mm, etc). My perspective is that if you need a $500 cable to 'fix/improve' the sound you might as well just get another headphone with that money

There's an error in the specs list. These most certainly do not have Active Noise Canceling.
