EDIT: Don't buy the UD sleeves.
One thing to consider with this drop: the added price of deck protectors. Upper Deck sells them the cheapest on their web store, and it's $50 for 10 packs of 50, plus shipping. If you like it and are pulling out all the stops in completing a set, the whole thing with all the expansions is just under 3000 cards. So plan on $300 in card protectors. You may also want to purchase a few extra packs of protectors, as the starting deck protectors will start to wear (grease, stickiness, patina) after about a year of regular play.
herschel@deftrance I agree. The "official" sleeves almost double the cost of the set, and it was silly to purchase them. The major detractor is that, as they wear, the paint wears off the corners, allowing less-morally-scrupulous players to "creatively shuffle" their decks to avoid the base SHIELD heroes. Unfortunately, like Cher, I am unable to turn back time and make a more prudent decision.
herschelI feel you - I did the exact same thing when I first bought Ascension. (Which I love) - I eventually ended up replacing the 500 sleeves of those.
The main image is incredibly deceptive = the box proportions have been manipulated. The four small box expansions could fit inside the main box, but they are almost as large in the image as the large box Legendary XMen expansion. The pricing is...a few bucks less than the basic prices at OLGS. You can find better deals on the products when they go on sale. If you want to blow your whole wad of money here and now, you'll save some dollars, but if you can wait, better deals are to be had.

fropones8% off is OK ... if you had already planned to buy all of these at once.
I'm planning to buy into Legendary Marvel, but I'm just going to go a set at a time if it's only 8%.
But at least MD is cheaper, since that's not always the case.
Awesome game. I own base, dark city and GotG, which makes this drop not for me - however...really fun game. Plays somewhere between Dominion (deck builder) and Sentinels (comic book stylization) and does some really spectacular things in altering the game mechanics to keep it from becoming the Cryptozoic DC Comics DBG (which is a fine, if unspectacular game, particularly for kids and new hobbiest gamers). Each game of the dozen I've played has been fresh and most have been VERY challenging. Highest recommendation - top 200 game all time on BGG.
Sleeve this game, because it will get a lot of play. You might also consider getting broken token card holders to manage the big stacks of sleeved cards. Also there are alternate art (Deadpool and Black Widow, PLUS the hand drawn playable chase cards) and two additional villains and two heroes available in the Upper Deck Marvel Legendary 3D card set. (Howard the Duck, Man Thing, Spider-Slayer and Circus of Crime)
