As of 2/20/2019, Amazon is currently selling the LG UBK90 (2018 model w/ Dolby Vision) for $175.22, and free two day shipping for Prime members. So yeah, great player, not the best price.

There's no indication in the specs as to the unit's audio resolution...Being that it's a Blu-Ray player, it should handle 24/96 Pure Audio discs but will it decode discs with resolution up to 24/192, or WAV and FLAC files via USB of the same (or greater) res? Also, for those thinking about DSD support...well, seems like not from this box. :-(

Best buy has a pretty good deal for this player going on right now. 199 for the player, 3 UHD Blu Ray movies of your choice (with some in Dolby Vision), and a Logitech universal remote. It brings the effective price of the player below 100.

No automatic refresh rate setting? I had zeroed on this player until I read Wirecutter's roundup: "When playing back discs, you have to manually choose between 24p or 60p refresh rates. Other players change automatically depending on content to avoid judder, so with the LG you might see motion artifacts if you leave it in the wrong mode. This is a bewildering design choice because it requires you to have deep knowledge of video playback settings in order to watch a movie properly." Has anyone confirmed this?

jlgomez2667I didn’t see DTS:X but Dolby Atmos can be streamed out to your receiver (No decoding of course)

Many MKV files contain embedded subtitle files. Some MP4 come with a separate subtitle file, e.g. .srt. Does this unit support such files? This would be the primary deciding criteria for me to purchase this unit to replace a computer player.

I should have waited for this player for future proof. Just settled for ubk80 without dolby vision. Anyways, my tv doesn't support DV. great drop again massdrop.

The wife and I, with another couple, rented a house over the weekend. Teh interwebs were 0.6MB down and 0.3MB up. Not a typo. I think I'll keep my physical copies, lol.

Is this a superior 4K player to the Xbox one X?

I didn't want to deal with waiting lol.
I have a ps4 pro so I didn't feel buying another console that had games I could just buy for my PC.
On top of that fact of with all the issues with it at the time (Dolby vision, Dolby atmos, playback compatibility) I don't have that issue with my sound bar as it's newer_ish and supports dts/dd and has dtsx. Unfortunately it doesn't have dolby atmos but dtsx does make up for it quite a bit.

JasonM1I bought a one S just for the 4K bluray player. Sold it once good players became affordable, don’t miss it at all. I bought a Sony UBPX800, and it had a much better picture out of the box than the One S. Wish I had a LG though to match the Lg OLED tv, but I guess now I have a Sony 4K Blu-ray player that matches my PS4 Pro. Wish it was only one device!
