Any attempt to fast-charge with this cable will be limited by the 29/30 wire gauge (typical current capacity rating is less than 0.5A). The aesthetically pleasing aluminum housing does virtually nothing for the function of the connector. IMHO this cable favors form over function. Source: I'm a connector engineer.

The added spring also eliminates the damage between the housing and cable. The Piston Connect Steel USB-C also includes a 3 year limited warranty.

LOGiiXBeen waiting forever for USB c, there aren't any high end USB c durable cables that have a nice minimal design that's compliant with USBC and thunderbolt three

Cool cables, I have the steel braided one, except after a few months the lightning connector came out and got stuck inside my phone. I submitted a warranty claim to the company and they have yet to respond to me. I got the cable through Massdrop. I would say avoid these - there are better quality cables out there.

To be fair I just got my replacement a few days ago. It took a long time though. We will see how this one holds up
