Why does bass guitar sound like it's being played in another room to the rest of the band in almost every track? Have I just not broken these in enough yet?

Could you please help to elaborate what this means? Not enough bass, too much bass, strange phase...?

Hi Jyri, I listened to tracks I'm very familiar with on Sony MDR650AP (my incumbent in-ears) and Sennheiser HD25 Aluminium by way of comparison and on the EDC the bass lines sound somewhat muffled, as if they're somehow being partially cancelled out by the rest of the music. The result is that the substance and timbre of the bass lines sound a bit lost in the background somewhere.
Please note that though I like full-bodied sound I wouldn't exactly call myself a basshead (I was happy with the Shure SE530 sound) so I'm not screaming for MOAR BASS here, but I think it needs to step forward more.
Granted, my ears are now used to 'phones with metal casings but I don't think that alone would account for the effect I'm describing.
Maybe it is phasing, that hadn't occurred to me before.
Sorry if I came across as bashing, I was just feeling a bit concerned.

No worries.
Which cable are you using? The braided or mic cable? Based on your comments I think you are using the braided cable and I would encourage to try the mic cable as it makes a difference especially on lower frequencies.

I am using the mic cable. I think I'll leave them plugged in for a while longer, maybe I just haven't broken them in properly yet.
