Way too hot to be active wear; small defect

These pants are great if you want sweatpants that won't get drenched in the rain; they're also excellent for a winter stroll. However, they're really not great for being active (or not) during most of the year. These pants insulate (do not breathe well) and are HOT, even when sitting inside in AC. I tried wearing them on cool hikes in late fall/early spring, but after half a mile I was sweltering. I was unable to wear them around the house even in the winter with the indoor temp maxing at 66 degrees... they're just too hot. Separately, a sewing mistake means I have a small hole in the crotch of the pants. It doesn't seem to affect the function and it hasn't ripped further, but it does not suggest high quality production.

Initially these were great. Love the colour and the fit. BUT after the first wash , the material started pilling and the outer layer is really not durable at all. After two washes the pants look like I wore them while running through a thorny bush and picked up every scrape along the way. 100% Regret. Would not buy again, especially at this price point. You’d expect quality construction.
