Product Description
In 1944, Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss engineer, designed what would go on to become the Official Swiss Railway Clock. It featured an easy-to-read dial with large black stick markers and a bright-red seconds hand Read More
I absolutely love that watch. At first I was disappointed to miss the white dial version, but I am more than happy with the black one. It looks a bit less "toyish" as the dial pops out a bit less.
The caliber is super precise: I set the time more than two years ago and I never had to set it again. "Swiss made" as written on the dial – and quartz.
I still keep enjoying that Stop2Go effect. So I guess that is more than just a gimmick.
You can set up where on the dial the seconds hand will pause (down to a half second position). This is super useful when you wear it on your right wrist but the crown is bothering you: turn the watch upside-down, set up time with a six-hours offset, set up the seconds hand to the then-30s position which is now 0s.
Yeah, the text will be upside-side down but eh, no more crown hurtings!
I dropped a star because of the black plastic strap which comes with the black version: after just a few months it started wearing off and "running" on any surface it touches.
Exceptionally well built, with a sweep seconds hand and that cool Stop2go effect, this watch is one of my favorites. The leather strap is of very good quality, soft and comfortable, but a little bit short for large wrists. The legibility is excellent, but some backlight lume on the hands would have been a blessing, for night reading.
All in all I love this watch.
