The Nitecore SRT5 Detective covers all the bases. You could use it to light the way on a night hike, to brighten your campsite, to shine a low red light while hunting, or to cast a blue light when illuminating stains or a pool of water Read More
Two questions.
Is the low mode really low, like a super low moonlight mode? I have a toddler, and it would be great to have a light that's dim enough to walk around in the room with while he's sleeping without disturbing him. Most other flashlights I have of this form factor don't dial down that low.
Also, is the blue light the sort of light I'd need to Illuminate stains on sheets at a hotel room? I've heard horror stories about that kind of thing and am considering this as a travel flashlight if this is, indeed, what the blue light does.
Thanks
Does this flashlight have a momentary-contact light feature? That is, an operating mode where you can press a button to turn the lamp on, and have the lamp go off when you release the button?
I don’t know about that. Ive never had an issue accidentally clicking the light on when I meant for a momentary. The button takes a sufficient amount of force on both my SRT-3 and SRT-5 that I know I’m using momentary. To be clear I use momentary on this all the time and 99% of the time it’s just fine. I just wanted to point out the delay because it’s something I hadn’t seen in other lights. I imagine it has something to do with the circuitry involved in the ring but that’s just my guess
Got mine today... awesome torch. Bright af, 750 lumens is more than enough. The red light will be useful for boating at night and preserving night vision, and it's nice that the modes can be selected with one hand. I will be replacing my Nitecore P12 at work with this torch, might have to get a second if this drop shows up again.
kossmonautCome on people, can't you read? it's all there in the description. It takes a 18650 or two CR123, and no, the battery is not included (the Overview page has a special section, at the bottom, which says, **Included**, and the battery is _not_ listed there).
