Packing 720 lumens into a 2.5-inch frame, the Nitecore TIP2 is a little brick you’ll never leave home without. Powered by a 500mAh internal battery and two CREE XP-G3 LEDs, the TIP2 drastically outperforms its small stature Read More
Was looking for a bright flashlight with a clip to wear on the bill of a hat. I am now waiting for it to come back because this just replaced my kitchen flashlight for when the power goes out and i need one for my camping pack.
I come in late a great deal of the time and my energy conscience family has a habit of not leaving a light on. Out in the Country, where I live, its pitch black and having a small child in the house means tripping obstacles are common, this light is plenty bright on the darkest night, as well as even in the pouring rain. Also being USB rechargeable means I charge my phone and my flashlight a couple times a week and never had to worry about a dead battery. The buttons take a little getting used too, but once you're comfortable with them its easy to get out of the car and handle the flashlight in total blackness and even rain. Its small enough not weigh down your keys like larger units, but its big enough to be able to grab and use one handed.
Easy to pocket and quite bright. I’ve only done limited testing to get used to the buttons presses, which came along easily. The tailcap requires a stout pull to get it off to recharge. Clip looks very useful.
Lets talk straight.
PROs: 1) Small
2) Bright with 3 modes
3) On a keychain.. so its great.
4) Magnetic back
5) IP67 is awesome.
What I don't like.
CONs
1) Because of that magnetic back, I have to be careful where I throw it. It sticks to a lot of things around if you want to throw it in your backpack.
2) Chargable (but no option to replace battery if ever needed)
3) Feels flimsy in the hand, though I think it could handle a few falls here and there.
this light has a stupidly strong magnetic lid for the charging port. it magnetized the tools on my multitool and a few other metal items in my pocket after one day. it's a good thing i didn't have it in the same pocket as my debit card and other cards with a magnetic strip or they would be blanked. i contacted nitecore twice and they just sent me a link for another light with no magnetic cap. very disappointed. this is a HUGE design flaw and makes this item worse than useless. avoid!
hardgearlovefestGood point about the magnetic cap and credit cards. I've been carrying this light for about a year now and that never entered my mind. Fortunately, they are in separate pockets.
Tiny Package, Micro USB Charging (not usb-c, but i have tons of micro cables, so good use for one), Super Bright.
Iv'e had a lot of use time on this thing already, and I got it about midway thru last month.
Would totally recommend, My dad wants one now.
I use this light every day and it is by far the best in it's size
I was in a dark room with 2 other contractors, surveying locations for fire protection hvac and elec. We all had lights when I turned on my nightcore tip2 it washed out the light from 2 much larger flashlights and both contractors commented on how small and bright my nightcore tip2 is . Great light thanks.
The light is bright for it's size, but that's where it ends being useful. The UI is way to slow, and the magnets right near the charging port just attract magnetic particles and now it won't charge.

Good light source / poorly-conceived as a daily-carry torch
Positives:
it's a great little light source, neatly executed.
compact and bijou.
feels strong-enough to last for years.
Negatives:
A bit too small, makes it fiddly to handle!
The "on" button is FAR too slow to respond.
The controls lack tactility - makes it hard to feel where they are.
the powerful magnets that hold the base on will wipe your credit cards, magnetise your wristwatch, affect your smartphone, etc. etc. It can even prevent car and house keys that require a magnetically coded data chip from working! A *REALLY* silly idea. Do NOT carry this torch in a pocket or bag with any sensitive item.
“thanks to the waterproof CNC aluminum body,”
So this is wrong?

Rowdy2026TIP2 is rated IP67: "the device can be submerged in up to one meter of fresh water for half an hour" so it is waterproof to a limit. Guess you can say it can withstand a rain shower but don't drop it in a pool or go diving with it. For EDC and pocket use, I think it suits its purpose.
I would agree with the OP's comment about the magnets... totally pointless and you have to be careful with where you carry it. That was a no-go for me so I gave my two TIP2's away to friends.
Magnet is strong enough to have never pulled off my keys by accident, handy to have in a pinch and strong enough to hit a nailhead on a wall. This is impressively bright for the size. The only thing to make it better, USB-C to match all my other devices charger!
