Added a couple pics of the underneath so you can get an idea. I think you could fit a controller/board no problem. On that note we're going to check with the manufacturer and see if maybe we can just have one added in for a few extra dollars for everyone who wants a working numpad.
As for the Costar stabs, I will check on Monday when I get into the office. Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I believe this is the offset that @A0.C is talking about : http://deskthority.net/resources/image/8093
It's by deskthority user Findecanor from a thread 2 years ago : http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/costar-stabilizer-plate-measurements-t5872.html
Looking at photos of bare plates online and examining my CM Stealth, it does appear to be a bit offset, slightly closer to the front of the keyboard. From the photos of the NPKC, it does appear to be inline with the switch cutout. I don't know how well it works without the offset.

I see WASD selling a fair few of these in the next few months
Quick update on the PCB front. There are still some tests being run on the software side for quality control and will take a few days for us to be able to confidently add the PCB as a checkout option.
We are considering different scenarios like extending the drop or even doing a PCB only drop, but the next course of action will depend on how the QC on the PCB goes.
I'll be in touch here and will provide an update to the everyone involved.
Thanks.
We know combining is the best option for the group and that's why if we get the answer in the next couple of days, it'd be best.

Our vendor was able to uphold their previous estimate of PCBs being shipped out by 9/15 from their location. We received them a few days ago, but upon receipt, our vendor notified us that there were some slight compatibility issues with Windows 8 that they have since fixed. With the community's best interest at heart, we demanded for replacement units to be sent to us immediately. Even though the issue was slight and only impacted Windows 8, quality and consistency is of the upmost importance to us. These were just shipped out and are currently en route to our warehouse. Please expect for fulfillment of these PCBs to take place in about a week.

Straw man fallacy? Contracts get breached. Vendors screw up in every direction. PR and other reps pass the buck and give half answers. One hand never knows of the other hand. Welcome to the world of business.
If you want a lot of updates that say nothing, I recommend checking out the noopoo lolita keyboard drop. You'd think that was an on the fly product like this and not vice versa. At the end of the day, the thing exists or it doesn't, I don't need to be such an important part of the process as a "nothings changed" email daily.

Mr.ClownskiBy strawman fallacy, I refer to your opening statement : "You mean like you want a live streaming webcam of their loading docks so you can get up to the second tweets, with numerous constant corrections to what is going on?"
Massdrop received the boards and found that there was a potential problem. We were only updated a few days later. I'd hardly call such an update one that says nothing.
And even if it says nothing, if you say "expect an update from us on a certain date, or sooner if something comes up", yes, I expect one.
Since the last update, when Arthur said that replacements have been shipped out, we have not heard back from Massdrop. He did not give us an ETA for arrival or any other information.
You seem to be arguing about two different things. We agree that stuff happen with manufacturing, and it sucks, and there's no point bitching about it or throwing blame. I've consistently pointed out to people that they are given the option to contact support and have their money refunded if they do not wish to wait.

If factory soldering delays the production maybe suggest separating the drop in two waves? 1st being a diy wave shipping out according to the initial estimate date and a 2nd presolder wave to ship out whenever they're ready to ship out?

I would very much like a drop for just a mechanical numpad. I wouldn't even mind a relaunch of the Leopold 21-Key Numeric Mechanical Keypad despite it not outputting true numpad codes. It's good enough for my needs.

Hey guys, the PCB has been improved based on the feedback from the last drop.
1. The response rate has been improved 2. I'm not sure if I can characterize the PCB has having true N-Key rollover. However, if you slam down on the entire keypad - everything you hit will be registered.

I twisted my costar stab wires for the enter and + keys. I did snap one accidentally and had to super glue it because I didn't have extras on hand. It's not perfect, but it works. If you are determined, you can make it work. Now...if only the version 1 PCB wasn't absolute garbage....

For those of you who want to wire this up yourself, consider using a Pro Micro instead of a Teensy. It has only 18 pins, but that's enough for 17 keys and a LED for num lock. It's less than $4 shipped from China, compared to ~$20 shipped for a Teensy. Both uses a ATMega32u4. If you want to do a matrix layout, you have 8 pins extra for other stuff.
By the way, the plate (and a different collection of switches) is availabe on eBay for $25.30 shipped (current price - when I bought it, it was $24). Transparent 1U keycaps are included, in different profiles (so the curve is correct). Note that this means the 0, + and ENTER keys do not have the 2U wide keys. It does not have the NPKC logo on the top - it's completely plain. The only (maybe) shady part about this auction is that the seller is using some photos from Massdrop. Maybe he has permission...

I am using Arduino IDE 1.6.3. The Teensy library installer doesn't support the newer ones because of glitches, they say.
FYI This is my first attempt at cutting away insulation on a wire in the middle. I saw it on reddit I think. Stranded wire is a pain. I have stuff I was needing to get from adafruit.com... I just made a purchase after making this keyboard, I also got some solid core wire to use in the future.

ZoneI used 1.6.5 for mine.
Yeah, stranded wire is a pain. The 6 pack of 22 AWG solid core from Adafruit looks useful. I used a roll of 22 AWG solid core black wire I had instead. To make life a little easier in the future, I picked up another roll of red.
I used a pair of flush cutters to notch the insulation and slide it to expose the conductor instead of using an Xacto to cut away the insulation. Seems like it might be easier this way if you get the measurements correct.
