Originally released in 1970, the Oris ChronOris was the first-ever chronograph in the company’s lineup—and it would prove to be wildly popular for its racing-inspired looks. Now, the company is re-releasing the watch in all its vintage glory. Featuring Oris’ own 733 26-jewel movement, this ChronOris Date version is accurate and precise. The markers are rectangular and three quarters filled with white, the other quarter a deep orange to draw the eye. Outside of them is a chapter ring with markers dividing each second into quarters. The hour and minute hands are treated with lume for visibility. Unscrew the crown at 4 to control the bidirectional inner bezel, which turns with a rather pleasing mechanical click. Water resistant to a respectable 100 meters, the watch is built with a stainless steel case and domed sapphire crystal.
