This is an essential piece of gear everyone should own! I've had mine over 10 years and they still look and function great. Bring back the orange and black and I'll buy some more!

I plan to use these with a pair of Merrell Isotherm Zip boots. I usually wear a size 10.5 but had to go up to an 11 since these boots run a bit small and to accommodate thick socks. HOWEVER, I have very skinny legs, about 13 in around the calf and only 8 at the ankle. Anyone out there have any suggestions on which size would fit best?
Also, how wide is the lace clip? I want to make sure it will fit the gaiter clip on the Merrell boot.

I bought a pair from REI for $45 for an Elk hunt this past December. Best thing I ever did. Outstanding In very cold, snow and freezing rain. Definitely made a difference in keeping my feet and lower legs warm.
The held up great in tough mountain hunting.

I have contacted the OR for their recommendation, and a helpful guy named Ryan strongly advised me to go for the regular, and not Expedition model:
"...expeditions have a wider bottom opening to accomodate ski boots, and your Salomons (x ultra 3 mid gtx) would be too narrow to make a good fit on the Expeditions."
Maybe thats obvious but I did not know that, hope this helps.
