Two years after the release of the Souverän M805 Stresemann, Pelikan has announced the M405 version—displaying the distinctive anthracite stripes of its big brother, now in a popular compact size. The Stresemann series is named for Nobel Peace Prize winner Gustav Stresemann, who was known in Germany for his trademark striped suits Read More
It's cheaper to buy from Cult Pens in the UK at the moment, especially if you're outside the EU.

Works out to approx. US$230 if you're outside the EU, or US$275 if you're in the UK/EU and have to pay VAT. Shipping is free worldwide, and you get a choice of 4 nib sizes instead of 3 (well, 2 actually now that medium is sold out here on massdrop).
JaggiIf you are in the EU, you also qualify for nib exchange and get a warranty that way. You do as well in the US but you have to send it back to Europe instead of Chartpack since you didn't buy it from an authorized US dealer. The one question I have is how Brexit will affect Cult Pens, but even than, you are at worst in the same gray market boat as Mass Drop but at a lower price point and you did help a normal dealer.
blerilleBut we really should get the M805 size instead - right?
The 805 Stresemann rollerball also looks absolutely lovely but probably will not work with uni-ball umr87 (for signo pens) or pentel energel LR7 refills since the 805 uses the metal rollerball cartridges = Parker style, which are (much) more expensive than the simpler open plastic tube refills (pilot style like umr87 and LR7).
I have seen this same pen selling on Endlesspens at $198 plus free shipping and they also only have EF nibs I wonder if they are selling on massdrio as well?
Penaddict23Endless Pens have been offering this pen for US$215 since before Christmas, and recently dropped the price to US$198. (Free shipping is a new thing that Endless Pens just brought in. By that, I mean free shipping across the board, since the US is hardly the only or the largest market for either luxury writing instruments or fountain pens in general.) So, no, I don't think this is Endless Pens selling on Massdrop as yet another marketplace platform.
By the way, I have recently received the second order of (this time, mainly Pelikan) pens I've placed with Endless Pens, and even though it didn't go exactly as I was expecting, the way they handled my complaint is testament to excellent customer service. If I were to buy the M405 Stresemann, it would be without a doubt from Endless Pens, on consideration of both pricing and proven (to me!) trustworthiness.
GrandnaguszekYes but the nib units for this pen is expensive being 14k gold. They run anywhere from $90-$190 depending on finish grind and seller. If you really wanted a nib unit id look overseas due to the current exchange rates.
jsolarI think the OP is speaking of the Chartpak nib exchange, which would be a no-cost swap. Most of the previous drops though have not been eligible for the Chartpak exchange.
Penworld has this for $211 plus shipping, I know nothing about them though. The Massdrop price is still saving $50 on ebay prices, so seems like a pretty good deal.
