Portable Hybrid Headphone Amp

A favorite at this year’s CanJam expo, the Phatlab Sassy is a portable headphone amplifier with a unique single-ended triode and solid-state hybrid design. At its core are a pair of JAN6418 tubes, one responsible for amplifying the left channel and the other responsible for the right. These, coupled with the newly developed, full-discrete solid-state output stage, make for a warm, smooth sound signature when used with low- and high-impedance headphones alike. For go-anywhere convenience, the Sassy is a little bigger than your average wallet and weighs just 9.5 ounces.

Note: This drop is for the Phatlab Sassy II, which adds a low/high gain switch to the back of the unit. Quantities are limited to 4 units.

Minimalist Design, Major Battery Life

The Sassy’s two-tone aluminum chassis features a large, smooth-moving knob and roll cage-style side panels designed to prevent accidental volume changes when you’re toting it around in your pocket. On the front panel, you’ll find a gold-plated headphone jack, a line in, and two LED indicators that tell you when the device is on and when your battery is running low. And speaking of battery, the Sassy keeps you rocking and rolling for more than 10 hours between charges, which can be done via the USB port on the rear panel.
