Designed by Pioneer’s Chief Speaker Engineer, Andrew Jones, these bookshelf speakers are great on their own or as part of a multi-channel home theater system. $90 isn't that great of a deal, they frequently pop up for $75. It even looks like they're at that point currently in Newegg.
That being said, I've got two sets of towers from the same line, and couldn't be happier. Wouldn't be surprised if the bookshelf sets run just as well.
A lot of my experience with speakers had been in the form of computer speakers. There are some really powerful, great-sounding PC speakers out there, but they all look distinctly like computer speakers. Small and oblong, tall like obelisks, or like space aliens about to land in an invasion. Recently I added some best bookshelf speakers under 200 dollar on blog. definitely going to add them.!
mdiuNot terribly. The bookshelf models need a subwoofer to hit the low end of the bass (sub-bass). The floor standing models do better, but still need a sub for the extra rumble.
JonnyFlashIf you think $51 shipping is ridiculous, you're in for a shock: shipping these from Amazon to my destination is $177 ($124 freight + $53 taxes)
The speakers are 89.99$ and the shipping is 51$, where's the logic in saving money here? When the price of shipping is almost the price of the speakers themselves... like, where is the logic here MD? o_0
I joined the drop unseen, unheard. Closest Fry's is in Phoenix, 100 miles up I-10. Hell, I snort 20 bux worth of LSD every ten minutes. I'll try almost anything once.
static.overdubThe problem I have is that they won't ship it to me. Every time it goes on sale I check in, and every time Pick-Up and Local Delivery are the only two options.
