Just got mine and the fit is awful. I can't even get them past my thighs and they're supposed to be larger than I usually wear. I had also contacted Red Cotton to change my monogram and even though I got an email back saying she'd change it, I got the original monogram. So, so bummed with this.

IanAndersonDone. I understand if there's nothing you guys can do. Being an avid Kickstarter, I understood the risk when I signed up for it. It would be cool though if something could be done about the serious size disparity.

I have 32" waist and 30" inseam - should I go with the 32" one? I know that sounds dumb but I don't really get raw denim. Also is the rise on these fairly high?

I have my fair share of expensive jeans (a few pair of BKE etc) and I am not a fan of flashy "Mexican" jeans with jewels on the pockets and such. But can someone tell me why they would spend $120 on some basic ass high riding jeans? These seem marketed to hipsters who just want to say they spend $120 on jeans because they are "better."

Price is a subjective issue. What someone may view as expensive may not be to someone else. I ride bikes too, so I can see how bike will cost $6,800. Depending on the user, that may be affordable, or it may be expensive.
Selvedge jeans are made generally on small denim looms which allow for better quality control. Those Samurai jeans you posted had 2 years of wear. Thats 2 years of constant wearing, ,every single day. I have various jeans that range in prices, and I could easily say that some of my cheaper or midrange stuff wouldnt be able to tolerate the same amount of abuse as some of my more expensive stuff. It also depends on the weight of the demin and the wearer. I use my jeans for everything, regardless of the price of the jean. So it's not unheard of for me to wear a pair of $300 dollar jeans to rock climb. To those who are into raw demin, these holes or fades are what define our demin. What something is worth is always going to be subjective. It's worth it for me to buy a high quality pair of jeans, even if it means thee price may be 10x more that a pair or levis (Granted Levis's LVC line is pretty damn good too).
Other places too besides the links Ian posted. Superfuture is a pretty large community that contains tons of people who are also into raw denim.

generally, raw denim (this drop and brands similar to it) tend to have better fits, more options, and feel better. I cannot attest to this particular brand's quality as I do not own a pair of red cotton denim, but I have owned 4 other pairs of raw denim (ranging from levi stf to japan bluexblue owl collab) and the process is so much more than just fit/feel. Your denim becomes a "second skin" of sorts, no matter the fit, that reflects your lifestyle: knee fades at your knee height, whiskering/honey combing at your specific bends, pocket fades that reflect your EDC, not a reflection of what a factory mannequin can create. The price may seem steep when you first venture into raw denim, but so would a $6.8K bicycle to a cyclist who was content with walmart bikes. If this particular brand is too expensive, good "starting" brands are Levi's 501 STF and Unbranded, that can offer a chance to test the waters on raw denim

Nickel Rivets are a non-starter for someone with a nickel allergy. If these were brass riveted would buy in a heart beat.

I confirmed with Camillo that these measurements are for the slim straight cut. We will not be offering the slim tapered this time around (although these are still reasonably tapered). Let me know if you have any other questions!

Are these Red Cotton's SLIM TAPERED, or SLIM STRAIGHT model? Thanks,

JMagtotoI will confirm with Camillo, but for now it's safe to assume that each pair will be made to the measurements on the chart we provided. I'm not sure which cut he calls this, but the physical measurements are more valuable than the name, anyway. I'll update with a response soon.

Is this drop for the Slim Straight or Slim Tapered jeans or is there a way to request that? The description only says slim but doesn't specify.
