Designed to offer an affordable, functional introduction to custom keyboards, the Sentraq S60-X comes with all the components you need to get started—including a new, designed-from-scratch printed circuit board that supports various layouts and is completely reprogrammable. All that’s left is to do is solder in the switches. In addition to the new floating-key design, this version features LED backlighting and RGB underglow with an acrylic midpiece for lighting effects to make it pop off your desktop.
Note: In addition to your choice of switches and keycaps, you will have the option to choose your case. The base includes the brand new Sandwich Case, which consists of an acrylic midpiece sandwiched between two aluminum pieces in the color of your choice. At checkout, you can upgrade to a solid aluminum case (+ $50) or downgrade to the plastic case (- $15). Cases are available in a variety of colors and materials.
If you select a plastic case, the PCB will not include underglow LED’s as they interfere with the case's standoffs. It still has SMD pads so you can add them if you change cases in the future.
The S60-X uses QMK firmware, allowing you to fully program your keyboard to any layout you can think of and customize your switches at any time. While most boards require you to desolder each individual switch to do something as simple as replacing a spring, the S60-X’s special cutout lets you easily remove switch tops. You can replace stems, swap springs, lubricate switches, and more with ease.
The base kit comes with your choice of Gateron switches, your choice of universal 60% plate, plate-mounted Cherry stabilizers, a universal PCB, and a case. There's also an option to add on a set of black-on-dark-gray dye-sub PBT keycaps (+$20). For those with their own switches or cases, those can also be removed at checkout.
