Great DAP (for the price)

I picked this up after reading it was a very effective DAP for its price, and I’m inclined to agree. The userface

isn’t always straightforward, and its inability to read ISO metadata correctly is frustrating (hopefully this gets a update at somepoint, as it plays them well), but it sounds great. All the headphones I tried this with were improved over my phone, the biggest improvement coming with the 6XXs and the Q1 set to high gain, which easily trounced my phone. I will certainly consider upgrading to a higher end DAP down the line, but for under a hundred dollars this is a highly recommended buy.

I like the sound. The eq works well and has a good range. Just starting to use it daily snd its controls snd menus are easy enough for my purposes. And it's cute.

Very good sound but terrible menus

This looks like a simple player, but the operating menus and procedures just to play music are extremely confusing and complicated. It took several attempts to figure out how to make a playlist and I still don't know how to name or delete them. It is also difficult to go from inserting a card to playing the music on it, requiring several steps. Also it stutters as it transitions from song to song. (Is that the gapless playback?) I have two Fiio (M7 & X3) players that are both simpler to operate but do not sound as good. If you have a lot more experience with modern music players than I do then this Shanling would probably make you happy.

Does the Q1 sound better than M0? I know they have the same DAC chip but some reviewers are mentioning how it is better implemented in the Q1.
