any way to get nonstandard bottom rows for the corsair kb's? there's plenty enough want for them to warrant the modified set.

you're right I do want compatibility, for the set not two different sets that have nothing to do with the suggestion. I'm asking for a modifier set for non standard bottom rows not a completely different product. If wanting a particular product is narrow minded so be it I'd rather want something specific than to just go with whatever the hell works...
As far as custom goes I dont want to have to purchase a new set then immediately modify it to meet my needs I want it to work OOB (modifying it out of box is for model railroads not for keycaps.)
Not sure how you tested the keyboard but with the set of side lit's I have it works fine on everything but little to no brightness on my RGB strafe so I have no clue what you did to test but it obviously wasn't very much cause even the defaults work fine with the side lit in a bright room...

Obviously you're not paying attention. Don't know what set you have but not gonna go into the different factors with you, if yours seems fine and works in your view, thats you. Of course it'll work fine, it shines, but as I stated, not well on keyboards with LEDs mounted north.

Good to see side-lit keycaps finally, I had to order mine from Taobao a couple months ago. NOTE: these work best with keyboards that have LEDs on the FRONT of the switch. Those with LEDs at the top of the switch will be quite dim because of distance and the switch stem getting in the way. Even though my LEDs are on the front, the Enter and Shift keys are pretty dim compared to the others because the translucent legends are off to the side a bit. If the LEDs are on the top/"back" of the switch these keycaps are pretty much useless imo.

UnkleAkalaJust the box: -blocked image but I posted it awhile back on this thread- Maybe a google image recognition search will pull something? It's confusing because after I paid (on engtaobao.com) they said it was out of stock, but then the set in the box came in. I'm thinking these are actually ABS but came in PBT box. I only have 1 other set of PBT (vortex) and they feel different. Either way the front-facing shinethrough is really nice.

I really like the idea of having side-lit keycaps. However, the ABS is a little bit of a turn-off for me because I don't really feel like purchasing any more than one/two sets. I saw someone ("wontonotnow") posted a supposedly PBT version of these side-lit keycaps purchased from Taobao. So, I decided to do some research. This is what I've found so far:
- This is what you should try to search for: "侧刻透光键帽". Google Translate translates it to: "side translucent engraved keycaps", and the search results more or less match what you search for. Searching for this alone will yield many results that are basically just the keycaps of this drop. You can try adding "PBT" to it, but you'll still have trouble finding the keycaps (at least for me). Link to search: https://www.taobao.com/article/CmDHGiC-FnEsDADC.html (I haven't looked through the results yet b/c I just figured out the translation)
- Here's a link to the same ABS keycaps being sold in this drop, but with an extra option of light gray (and has a Windows logo instead of a star): https://world.taobao.com/item/528430628214.htm
- Looking through the related items, I found this: https://world.taobao.com/item/529788365996.htm This advertises itself as being "PBT", but I have no way of confirming that. (Also, I kind of doubt they are PBT b/c (a) they look the same, (b) the price is the same)
- I thought I might as well include a search index where I found the results above: https://www.taobao.com/article/ByAgEQBQG6DdA9AJ.html I only flipped to page 9, and will probably continue after I finish posting this. However, I haven't found any definitive side-lit PBT keycaps. This may be due to the fact that I am largely relying on pictures, as my Chinese is weak.
- BTW, the brand of the PBT side-lit keycaps someone got was "CMany" (or "IKBC" according to https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/4bn7yr/euger_h_ansi_104set_pbt_green_keycaps_tai_hao/) and the exact Chinese text on the box was "科曼尼机械键帽PBT双色成型透光键帽 " (image on page 2 by "wontonotnow").

Well, not exactly destroying it as you'd just lightly shaving the top coating off. You'd still have legends to read since it side printed.
If you're against it then you can just buy it pre done for you. What I suggested is a cheaper DIY alternative route.

TheTolsonatorIt's a great keyboard, just not very customizable
. Keep in mind, you can still replace the keycaps for the other keys. Some people like to replace the bulk of the keys with doubleshot white keys to highlight the RGB. Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eunQXMdA2AY.
