has anyone here faced problem after using their M8 for less than a year? after 8 months in service, mine doesn't have sound coming out from right channel anymore. while it worked all's great. but when it breaks, there is no warranty to cover it after 30 days from purchase. now i have to contact the manufacturer myself coz massdrop would not entertain it.
if it happened to you also, did you send it back to manufacturer or did you just send it for repair at a local ? did you manage to have smsl repair it at no cost if it is less than a year from date of purchase ?

ck.tanThis is why I always purchase these sort of products with AmEx. The screen on my original flavor M8 severely burned in (as they were known to do). After nearly 2 years (AmEx doubles manufacturer warranty) AmEx reimbursed me for the full purchase price of the unit, and I got to hang on to the mostly funcional DAC as a bonus.
When there are any warranty runarounds, shady merchants​, or sketchy manufacturers, AmEx is your best friend.

Tatteredmidnightok, i just sent the faulty unit to smlsl in shenzhen, china over the weekend. they will repair it for free, but i had to pay for the outbound shipping. as advised by the courier, i tagged the package as "repair-and-return" to avoid import duty.

xiiicalintzhey xiiicalintz, oh yes! i think the one they sent to me was shipped out of Singapore because it was a Singapore sender address on the parcel. makes sense because Singapore is closer to my country, so cheaper for them to ship. i only paid for the outbound shipping to China anyway. and the dac has worked perfectly until today !! very happy with it.
