If only you could get the price down to $180. But with a retail match why bother?

I can’t justify buying a dagger. But will admit I was eyeing the AG Russell Sandbox Dagger: https://agrussell.com/knife/A-G-Russell-Sandbox-Dagger--RU-U109BKOD Especially after seeing the torture tests they did on the tip. If I were to spend $200 on the drop I would just throw in an extra 100 for the Sandbox. Just saying. Used to love this site way back when. But the deals, exclusives, and mystery boxes seem to all have disappeared.

LazarusLongThose Sandboxes are the bomb. A.G. Russell I've heard called the best kept secret in the knife world.

Just checked, it's the same price on just about every online retailer.

For just $20 more I can get a much more costly to produce folder of superior steel, m390, machined from a single lump of titanium. Hard to see the value even with this discount.

Hmmm. I just know this knife in person would be drop dead sexy, I cannot find a logical justification to buy it. It's impractical unless you plan to kill something and my thought process as far as defensive knife use is that any knife of equal size will do the same job, for the most part, in that rare situation so why not carry a more practical design you would more likely carry to begin with? Yes, I am sure a dedicated style such as this would be more effective, it will pass through materials more easily but it's just not a feature that I value all that much. Yet a part of me kinda wants it just because I have nothing like it and I just know in hand it will be a thing of beauty.

JakobI own this knife,I walk a lot 40-90 miles a week.I carry it for self defense,I don’t want or plan on killing anyone but a good motto in life “Be prepared not scared”.That being said this knife looks and feels so good in the hand. There is no argument about best pivot, bearings washers or lockup with a fixed blade. Oh it has a nice Kydex sheaf also.

VbmooreI cannot argue with your logic. It is without a doubt a very effective tool for your purpose and its surely a beauty to behold. I am mentally trying to find reasons not to buy it, lol. I spent just as much on my Spyderco bushcraft UK with an inferior, well, less expensive, steel than this. I love it but have to admit, while a fixed blade will always be superior to a folder in many ways they are significantly less costly to produce all things being equal. Pretty happy with my Streetbeat for SD purposes. Never seen this Spyderco before and find it intriguing.

Is it really only sharpened on one side? Looks that way from the picture. Should rename it the Spyderco "Wannabe".

y_nuYup, I own one wish it didn’t have the false edge. It would be an easy fix to send it Apostle P knife sharpening service. It comes very sharp. I hadn’t cut myself for along time till I received this knife and it bit me.

Blade HQ not shipping internationally due to covid. No joy on black Friday deals.

Now you're talking sense. But I'd put away the folder with serrations clearly designed for carnage when guests come over. I've seen the damage such scallops can do to a rare steak.

Leoanger Well it's got a smooth blade too just in case--it's one of my favorites. I have that one: https://qasupplies.com/double-blade-produce-knife/ and this one too: https://qasupplies.com/the-original-produce-knife/ You might have to be a professional fruit sampler to qualify for them though...

The hole in the blade is a Spyderco trademark not an indication of a "bargain bin" item.
