Would be a good deal if they tossed in the Sinn in the photograph. Otherwise, regardless of the the tricks it does to expose and hide the ballpoint, it's kind of expensive for what it actually does--you know, like, write stuff on paper...
I’m strictly a Parker Jotter user when it comes to ballpoints. Of course, given the option, truly civilizedindividuals prefer to use their fountain pen. I certainly do ;- )
Oh yeah, you need a different spring too. Tactile Turn sells their springs as replacements...or you could just get one out of a donor plastic Pilot G2 pen, along with the cartridge.
bretth27Consider its weight and prevent any metal smells, I bought the standard titanium. I must admit I'm obsessed with the pilot g2 0.7 refill. No regret after two months.
quizOn the tactile turn site if you use the code “BOLT” you can get 20% off which makes it the same price as this Drop. You then change to mini and/or get the Damascus body for the additional $20.
Help! The ink in these pens is super smeary and take time to dry. I must sign dozens and dozens of labels each day in a hospital setting and need an ink refill that will dry quickly. Any recommendations?
FireMikeThe short takes the Fisher refill. What I was saying above is you need to buy the refill separately and not use one from a Fisher Bullet space pen because those don’t have the plastic adapter needed. The plastic adapter is included when you buy the refill separately.
Picked one up during launch week. These are great pens and a big improvement over the Slider/Glider. The bolt mechanism is a lot snappier and firmer. There’s no tip wiggle. Build quality is awesome.
If anyone can answer this I'd really appreciate it, and I feel stupid asking, but... how do you open up the pen when you replace the cartridge? I looked over the pen and tried to loosen it in several places, nothing. TT doesn't have a user guide on their site, and none in the box. TIA! Pen is really nice though. I got Ti full size.
The machining is so good you can't even see the join. It's about an inch upwards from the tip / nib end. There is a lack of grip, so use some rubber bands to hold both halves, and turn the tip counter-clockwise to open.
I was waiting for these to drop and found a bolt action made by Bastion. They make two styles, one in stainless and one in stainless and carbon fiber. Ordered one of each on eBay from Bastion and received them today. Very well made at 1/3 the price of Tactile. Check out the YouTube video, great pens!
Yes, they are a bit on the heavy side. I bought one of each. The CF is lighter. I guess if weight is an issue you go with the titanium at three times the price. There really is no justification. It just seems that everything is being made out of it. New fad metal. It does have its good qualities.
I own the titanium version (bought outside of Drop), it's definitely worth it. I strongly suggest the Ohto Ceramic 0.7mm refills, the best ones I've tried, very smooth and regular writing, and very pigmentized ink (unlike some where you feel like you're writing with water paint), they're hard to find though (at least in France).
Btw, pics for bronze and copper versions are wrong, they show the side click pen, not the bolt action one.
tanbwSorry I don't know, I only own the regular size one. But if G2 refills fit in the short one (I don't know if they do), the Ohto ones should fit as well.
