Great Pen at a Great Price
I have a few Tactile Turn pens so this review comes with an obvious prejudice towards these pens. This pen the is the updated version of their bold action pens and the improvements are noticeable. The design of the pen is has changed just enough to improve it's aesthetics. Working from the top town, the end of the pen is flat instead of rounded. This shortens the space between the top of the pen the clip. It looks better. The slot for the bolt used to move the barrel up and down has been changed. The old version was a "C" shape. The new version is half of what the old shape was. This makes actuating the pen easier. You only have to push down on the bold instead of moving it in a half circle. It's a small improvement but it makes a lot of difference. The bolt used to move the barrel is lower on the barrel. When the barrel is moved down to write, you longer see a hollow space in the pen. Not a big deal, but it shows the attention to detail spent on the pen's improvements. The nose of the pen is wider towards the tip but holds the refill tighter than the previous version. I've never experiences and tip wobble in the previous version and don't experience any in this version. The writes just as well as the old version and feels just as nice, but it looks nicer and work better. You won't go wong getting this pen. If you missed out on this deal, go to Tactile Turn's website and pick one up. If you like machined pens, you will really like this pen.

Well, I bought a second one. Does that tell you how I feel about this pen?
I was actually going to buy one of these and one of the Urban Survival Gear TiScribe Bolt Pens, as both received good reviews. I ordered this one first, then tried to order the Urban Survival Gear pen, but the owner, I think his name is Kelvin, had a hissy fit and accused me of insulting him when I questioned his delivery schedule. So I ended up with just this pen and liked it so much that I bought no others, then just recently decided to buy the shorter one as well (which seems to now be the medium size). I like them both very much. I also just recently purchased the Machine Era Classic Pen, as it had some really good reviews as well. I really like this one as well, just wish it had a clip on it, not to wear in my pocket, but rather to keep it from rolling off the table. So cheers for the Tactile Turn and the Machine Era, and thumbs down for the Urban Survival Gear.

Davidsh331I have a USG TiBolt, and can say that it is also an excellent pen. I never dealt with any customer service, just ordered and received, so I can't comment on that, but I really like the pen. I also have the Machine Era and two Tactile Turn pens, and can confirm they are well made as well.

TronFnknBlowYou must be ambidextrous. All that I can say is, "his loss". The Machine Era would roll down the street if I gave it half a chance. I like the pen, but I won't buy another rolly polly pen again. It needs some bookends or something to keep it from rolling away, even off my desk.

The Highest Quality Pen I I didn't like
This pen really is manufactured to the most insane precision - I couldn't find the seam to unscrew the body if I tried. The action was great, the pen wrote well, the clip worked perfectly. But the body of the pen was much too think for my personal preference. I prefer a thinner body, and this one is a half inch in diameter. Again, this is a great pen, just not great for me.

Excellent pen that will last a life time
Got the titanium version, actually have both the short and standard length. The pen is made of thick titanium, machining is great, the body of the pen has small grooves machined on them that helps with grip and hides the seam where the tip meets the body. The action became very smooth after using it for a few days, although I suspect the copper and brass version are even smoother? The clip is great and carries very deep. The only thing I didn't like is the diameter of the pen, it's just a little too thick for my hands, and can possibly make long writing sessions uncomfortable, but it does make the pen feel super strong and well build, there is no way it's gonna fail on you

Bad quality control.
It's a good pen. This one was my second one, my first I purchased directly from Tactile Turn. The first one had an issue with the bolt, this one from Drop has a DIFFERENT issue with the bolt. I won't be buying from them again.

Nice pen but poor quality control
Chose the titanium standard version, the design is close to perfect for my taste with a wider body than disposable pens (close to Uni Jet stream grip) But the fit was pretty poor, both ends being crooked and the threads portly aligned. The misalignment is tiny but the point of a machined pen is the precision of the fit, for a 100$ pen that's disappointing... Another cas of a product hyped through perfect review samples sent to reviewers and youtubers I guess On the bright side body texture and action are fantastic!

Quality built
This pen is built extremely well and has a fun fidget factor. Plus the fact that the pens are made in the USA make it that much better. Proud to support American made products.

Textured surface provides a good grip and feels great in the hand. The line between the two pieces of the barrel disappears into the machined lines, making it seem like a single piece of metal. Titanium version is light and durable enough for an EDC, but refreshingly without the weird tacticool designs of other titanium pens - I wouldn't be embarrassed to be seen using it at the office. Only complaints:
  • The spring requires more force to compress than I expected and snaps back hard when retracting. Makes me a little nervous about the durability of the steel bolt smacking into the titanium barrel over and over.
  • The pocket clip is very rigid and without any spacing from the barrel. This makes it a little hard to bend enough to clip to anything as substantial as a jeans pocket or notebook cover, but also tenacious enough that I get nervous unclipping it from anything less substantial.

Such a fun pen to use!
I love playing with the mechanism every time I pick up this pen. Doesn’t write as nice as a plastic pen for me, but the build to this pen doesn’t match. Love the rivets engrained on the metal for better grip. This comes with me everyday :)

Ok pen, packaging dissapoints
The pen itself is nicely machined and the slide mechanism is smooth and enjoyable. The top cap, for some reason, is machined differently than the body and stands out a little bit. Not sure why this is the case, as it would look amazing if it was seamless with the case. The packaging is a real disappointment sadly. The outside box is thin cardboard which inevitably gets mangled during shipping, and inside its just some cheap and nasty looking foam that rubs against the ridges of the pen, so the ridges are full of tiny foam particles when you first receive it. Unfortunate, because I purchased one as a gift.
