Hey everyone,
Based on community feedback, we've ended this drop early. We always try to source new, interesting, unique products that offer a great value, but sometimes we miss the mark.
Although we love to hear positive reactions when products launch or get delivered, it's important to get feedback when a product doesn't appeal to members as well.
Thanks for letting us know so that we can keep working to improve the site.
DuaneWeikumHey Massdrop,
If you were going to do a similar item, take a look at the MaxVenom Karambite.
It's just under $100 and is the same thing as this, but steel.
Also, legal in Canada ;)
DuaneWeikumHey Duane,
Thanks for being responsive to the community
How about offering an exclusive waved version of this?
A wave would really be the best way to open this. That is also the only downside I see with this design (would probably simplify the blade design, but eh.. whatevs)
Even with the royalties paid to Ernie Emerson, it'd still be a great value.
See wave mod video.
The only other option to open a karambit in reverse grip is a grav drop opening and while that's cool in the training hall or goofing at home, probably not reliable enough to use in a real life stressful situation.
my $0.02
I am curious: with all of the negative feedback about this well designed (but obviously overpriced) knife, why is it here on Massdrop? I like the concept, just not a fan of the price.
Come on man really?......Way overpriced. True is a specialized weapon but almost a novelty item when you can get the clinch pick or P'kal for under this price.
Its not only overpriced thats just a ridicoulous price for something like this.
Go on and get a full karambit fixed blade or foldable you will have more use and fun with it.
Hi price for such a tiny blade with so little utility. The odd shape of the blade will make sharpening a challenge as well. I mean, the blade is less than an inch long. Might as well carry a box cutter and save yourself $164.
Ohhhh, yippie! A Spyderco! So I can buy the Spyderco, then leave my current EDC at home, having been replaced by the Spyderco, or I can ADD a neck knife and now have two knives! Seems like my money is best spent adding a knife to my person, as opposed to replacing one, with another. That's no way to make a money based argument.. if you ask me.
Oh it's not a shitty design at all, it's just that you're better off buying the regular steel version for almost half the price, not some karambit.com "couldn't sell".
