bsastorIs it necessary that the Sennheiser be used in a portable, or transportable system? Are you thinking predominately desktop? The new driver and 150 ohm rating means it's slightly easier to drive. The more voltage grunt (and current reserve) is still better. Just what is "general" listening anyway?
achristilawWhat?!
Well first of all thank you for replying. I guess what i am asking is that in a portable scenario, since this is a portable amp and the new jubilee being easier to drive.
Currently all i have is a DAC/Amp thingy from kickstarter that's called xround and it being undefined what it actually is. So i am wondering if this amp will be better than that gadget. Thanks.
bsastorXround is a gaming thingee? The Jubilee being an open, will be at a disadvantage in the outdoors. For ten dollars more? You could get a Schiit Magni 3 and have a whopper of a desktop system. The Topping will work, but have to "work" hard to do so. Just in my opinion.
achristilawHey that's a good recommendation for comparison. Thanks. Guess i will check out the Schiit too. Have been hearing good things about it and the Fiio all the time, but not much about topping.
At this price range it looks like entry level, which is just right for me.
The xround boosts the bass output significantly to make a difference, however i feel that a proper amp can do much better. You know with kickstarter stuff sometimes it is great, other times, well not so great. It comes out of Taiwan and is made by australians(?) so i bought in to it. It costs roughly the same as this topping amp btw so i'm looking at this gadget.
bsastorTopping is lately branching out to include the portable market. Fiio is good entry level and punch above their weight on the price/performance stage. They (Topping, Fiio) might even be produced in the same factory with Chinese consolidation as it is.
achristilawyeah i'm not surprised if that's true.
so then in your opinion this particular drop is not recommended?
are there any similar amp from topping you'd recommend?
bsastorI like the 8610 op-amp sonics used in this Topping. Find something with more power perhaps would offer longer term satisfaction with the Jubilee. If you have low impedance and highly sensitive? Then this is the amp for you. If you need something on the go that has enough grunt to operate the Sennheiser? The O2 amp (from various manufacturers) would fill the bill. I think they have an O2 offered now on Massdrop.
achristilawYes they do, i had my eye on it for some time now. But that is a desktop version.
Maybe it will work with the Nuforce DAC 3 hooked up to my PC?
