Not worth it this time. I did a quick price comparison on Amazon and I can get the same items for $56.96, including shipping, and without the Massdrop wait time:
- Pilot Metropolitan Classic $11.79
- Rhodia 18 Yellow Staplebound Pad $10.31
- J Herbin Rouge Opera $11.68
- Pilot G-Tec-C Gel Ink Pen 10-Pack $16.39
- Pilot Metropolitan Converter $6.79
BlueTofuYeah, I don't understand this drop at all. I guess the other pens push it up in value but if you get one of the common packages you're just breaking even. None of this is even unusual or interesting, it's all standard entry-level fare. Odd.
I am very pleased as well! My inventory:
Fountain Pens: 1 Lamy Safari Charcoal Medium, 1 Noodlers Red Flex Creaper, 1 Pilot Varsity Blue (Disposable), AND A Faber - Castell Dark Brown Wood e-motion Extra Fine!
Ink: 1 Large Bottle J Herbin Lie De The, 1 Medium Glass Bottle Rohrer & Klingner Alt Goldgrun(old golden green).
Paper: Leuchtturm pocket journal dotted, 1 Rhodia, dotpad, 1 Corcho traveler graph journal, 1 Rustico traveler journal, 1 pack Molskine Cahier Journal.
Other: 1 OHTH Giza Rollerball, 1 pack 20 Staedler colored marker pens.
Naturally, I was very lucky with this box. I'll be on the look out the next time this box drops.
I'm thrilled with my box. I got one of the e-motion pens! The only thing that I received that I already own is a bottle of Tsuki-yo iroshizuku ink, but it's my favorite of their colors, so I'm really happy. Some of the pens I got may end up being gifted to friends who color more, but this was a great collection.
How is this the same price as the last one, but contains less than 1/2 the amount of stuff? I'd be in if this was under $20, but I could buy the majority of this stuff at retail for under $50...
I just received mine.
I am rather disappointed with the number of non-fountain pen related items in the box, especially given that fountain pen related items entirely made up the sample images. Most of the MSRP of the box was items that did not apply to fountain pens at all. Many rollerballs, mechanical pencils, and paper unsuitable for fountain pens.
Not entirely sure what I expected, but it wasn't this.
kdomSure thing.
In terms of pens, I got a Noodler's Ahab flex.
Miscellaneous items, I got an a5 Rhodia notebook, De Atramentis standard blue black, some iron gall ink.
Unrelated items I got 20 miscellaneous colored Pilot G2s, a rotring rapid pro mechanical pencil, 6 fineliners, a bunch of small moleskine notebooks, and a machine era no. 2 pen.
LOVED my box, it was like opening a gift from someone that knew everything I would like. Will definately do it again! Thank you SO much Massdrop!
