Carbon fiber is hailed for its durability and lightweight composition. These wallets from XC Carbon are crafted from carbon fiber, stainless steel, and high-quality elastic to help slim down and toughen up your daily carry Read More
This wallet isn’t perfect, it scratches easily, but that’s about the only issue. For $13 compared to the ~$130 carbon fiber ridge. I’d say it’s a good buy.
Side note these are real carbon fiber. Real carbon fiber scratches pretty easily considering it’s a mohs hardness level 2. So saying “iTs FAkE CaRbon” is not accurate.
I Purchased this months after I purchased a similar style from the company RIDGE. This was by far less expensive but in my opinion better made. The carbon fiber is thicker here than on the ridge. This surprised me considering how less expensive it was in comparison. The RIDGE attaches the money clip portion by rivets at the bottom of the clip which is fine if you sit all day. But if you’re very active it WILL break as mine did. This wallet clip is located between a thick sandwich of steel or aluminum and carbon fiber and which is held together by beefy screws. Much better and should last. Also it’s actually heavy as in a satisfying heft to it the RIDGE doesn’t have. For the price it’s super and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a different approach to the normal wallet etc. plus unlike the RIDGE if you don’t like it you aren’t out much cash and find yourself struggling to offload it on EBay 😂
Astroman77This is not just similar to the Ridge Wallet, it's almost exactly the same, right down to the number of screws and their placement. Perhaps the carbon fiber is thicker, and there is no "R" logo though. I have no idea what you're talking about with rivets holding the clip. I have the Ridge Wallet, and the clip slides into grooves between the RFID blocking plate and the carbon fiber plate. When the screws are in place, the clip is held tightly and cannot be broken off no matter how active you might be. It seems to me this product is a knockoff of the Ridge Wallet, which puts all of these high reviews in a suspicious light.
I personally think this is worth the price. If it were $25 or higher, I would probably say it's not worth that much, since it's essentially two carbon fiber plates and elastic. My main issue with it would be that it can be difficult to retrieve a card from it, especially if in the middle. I'm aware that you can slide the cards halfway out and the cards spread out, because the plates get pulled into an angle, causing everything inside to fan out. But this hasn't been my experience, even trying to make this happen, it just doesn't. I would try putting more cards in, since I only have about six, but I just don't have anything else to put inside of it. Positive, it looks great, it's super-lightweight. It's satisfying when you can pull out and put back in a card with ease, but it took me a bit of practice. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. It has become my everyday carry, and I don't anticipate going back to a leather-fold wallet anytime soon.
The small screws that held the wallet together fell out until it fell apart. Did not realize they were missing until it fell apart. Loctite the screws?
Opened it up, put a few cads in and slid a few bills under the bill clip only to have a screw shoot out of the corner and across the room. That was my first experience. Hoping it gets better from there
Product materials look good but I always have something wrong with drop product that feel like referbished products. In this case the top screws looked a little cratched from a improperly sized screwdriver was use to tighten it or was quickly put together
completely missing some of the screws when i received it. when all a thing is is aluminum frame, carbon fiber plates and some screws and you forget the screws you are bad at the job. Don't buy it.
With the exception of a few shipping problems that were completely out of Drop’s hands, this wallet arrived on time and in one piece.
it is extremely compact; more compact than you would expect, but this was a good thing for me.
very lightweight, sleek design. I will be updating in a few months to see if it holds up.
