Finding your groove: getting into vinyl with Audio-Technica
I’d like to think that I could’ve been friends with the late Hideo Matsushita, founder of Japanese Hi-Fi powerhouse Audio-Technica. If I could, I’d travel back in time to 1960’s Tokyo, where a young Matsushita curated “vinyl listening sessions” at the Bridgestone Museum of Arts, exposing visitors to the sounds and possibilities of high end audio and the warmth of vinyl records. I imagine sitting with him in a mod coffee shop, listening to the stories of what he witnessed in those sessions, the conversations he had with visitors, and what ultimately motivated him to head back to his small apartment above a ramen restaurant and start an audio company of his own.
In the histories I’ve read regarding AT’s humble beginnings, Matsushita’s motives seem clear. Produce high end audio at affordable prices, bringing audio excellence into spaces and to customers that simply didn’t have access to it before. His first two products, the AT-1 and AT-3 phono cartridges did exactly that, and...
Curious to know how you lug your mobile gear around.
These are the NANUK 904 & 908 protective cases. I was pleased with the 904, but purchased the 908 when I decided to include some of my IEM’s, a 2nd DAC/Amp and a 2nd DAP as well as a 9 in 1 multi-card reader to my assortment of portable gear. It’s a work in progress as I have just received the 908 and started to do a bit of customizing. At this point I have carved out a spot for the Fiio BTR17 DAC/Amp & Hiby Digital M300 DAP, as well as the 3 bright colored soft cases which contain a few 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm single ended cables. I will be doing very minor work to this top level before moving on to the lower deck, where I am uncertain what to do next. Having space to work with wouldn’t be a bad thing. I have a Fiio BTR7 DAC/Amp and a Surfans F20 DAP inside the smaller 904, along with a couple of canisters with IEM’s. Currently the Hiby Digital M300 DAP has a 1.5 TB micro SD card while the Surfans F20 is only capable of using a 512 GB micro SD. I listen to music on mostly FLAC files though I do have a whole bunch of Hi-Res material as well.
Ordered a pair of earphones on Saturday, and when I paid with ApplePay, it auto-filled an old address I used to live at. No biggie, I contacted support and provided the right address to fix this issue. What ended up happening was both Drop and UPS not doing anything at all and allowing the package to be delivered to said wrong address. I've spent the last 4 days contacting both Drop and UPS trying to get the package sent to the right address, and while Drop says they sent an update for the new address, UPS says otherwise. This is unacceptable service and Drop needs to do a better job at making sure these errors to go unfixed. I am a new customer and this was my first purchase. After all this headache with NOTHING RESOLVED (and 4th of July weekend being on the horizon), I'm not sure if I would want to do any sort of business with the company anymore.
The NEW $499. Audeze LCD-S20 Closed Back. It’s impressive. The build is legit, nothing cheap at all. It’s reflected in the 550 gram weight, which while on the heavy side doesn’t bother. It IS, however, a might clamp heavy and so it’s going to take a little time to get it to feel secure on the melon without making the head feel a bit pinched. I DO have a big head though.
The headphone uses the typical Audeze suspension strap, which I have not adjusted from the factory. Truth told I’m just getting my first initial listens. They arrived early last night but I had to deal with putting in an air conditioner and get the TV and internet back up and running after the damn landscapers hacked up the outdoor cable line with their weed whackers. Dolts would be an accurate assessment.
So what I’ve done is simply to give these a few gentle outward tugs in order to get these to loosen up on my head and I’m getting real close. Besides the suspension strap the under side...
This supplier sucks when you have to return something that you decided that you do not like. I have bought Thinksound ov202w Wireless Over-Ear Headphones and after listening to them after about 5 songs that I did not like the sound quality. It was mainly lack of bass. this is there return policy on there own site.

Ive seen folkes saying that they got a discount on the V2 because they bought V1. i am a version 1 buying and would like to know how can I claim that offer if its still available.
Hi,
Just thought I would make a note here of your handling of my issues. I ordered a pair of HD6xx headphones and then earlier today recieved the package.
I drive to go and get it, as I like in the UK I had to pay import tax and handling fees. These total £47.92. The breakdown being £35.92 in tax and £12 in fees. These taxes were calculated of the shipping label of the box, which marked the shipment as the 6xx headphones of $199 value.
Before leaving the parcel depot, I open the box to find a $35 lord of the rings mousepad. So now the problem is not only do I not have the headphones, but you have marked the shipment wrong so I have paid £47.92 fees for the handling of the mousepad. Which would have acrued £0 of fees if marked correctly as it is under £135. I go back to the desk but as I have already paid the fees I am unable to reject the shipment, but as the box said 6xx, there was no way for me to know before opening it.
I contact support and they offer me a replacement, which...

pc38x still has audio coming through with the volume dial turned all the way down
Finally got my hands on the pc38x. I mostly wanted to try this headset because of all the good things i heard about it. Out of the box i wasn’t really impressed. My 50 dollar astros were just as loud if not louder. After setting up an EQ on dolby access i got them sounding a little better. But one thing that really bothers me is the volume dial on the headset. When i turn it all the way down there’s so much audio still coming through, like the headset is turned up 10-20%. Is this normal?
It's not done, I apologize for the mess. Health issues have put this on hold. It's a small room and I'm likely to sell off my KEF 104.2 loudspeakers and some other gear after surrendering the living room to my wife after her patience of 35 years. She deserved her own little sanctuary.
I made the decision to take advantage of the $600. price on the HiFiMan Arya Stealth, here pictured with the Meze 109 Pro. I think 2025 is going to be a really uneventful year so far as new purchases. I've also upgraded my Fiio BTR7 to the newly released BTR17 and I purchased the Earmen stack which consists of Amplifier, Linear PS, DAC & Streamer.
How about providing a BMR2 discount for BMR1 owners? Most of the "improvements" in the next gen should really have been there in the first which was a pretty big disappointment for most of us.
UPDATE: 40% discount offered. That's great, I'm in. Thank you DROP.
I had a good experience with Drop. Thank you Drop.
Impressive warranty service. Real quick. I needed to return my 6xx for a buzzing in the right speaker. I inquired with the manufacturer regarding the two year warranty and was batted around a couple of times before being directed back to Drop. Drop then covered the warranty even though it was a couple of days past the purchase date of the warranty’s terms. I’m not stating you will have the same results. I initiated the claim prior to expiration. I was issued an rma, I returned my unit and had a new unit two weeks later. Thank you Drop. Another happy customer. I’m not a bot. Send me any puzzle and I’ll complete it.

Why haven't I received a shipping code or response from customer service for my order in over 3 weeks?
Hello,
I apologize for using the community to post a customer service ticket essentially, but I haven't gotten any update from this website for my FIRST ORDER regarding some headphones I ordered. Essentially, my partner ordered me some gaming headphones ( Drop + EPOS PC38X) a few weeks ago. I have an attached screenshot of the confirmation code on this post.
Normally I'd expect a shipping code to be provided, at most, a week later, but I decided to give this website a little bit more patience because to begin with, my girlfriend was skeptical, but after reading some posts on Reddit recommending this site, I convinced her it wasn't a scam. 3 weeks later, lo and behold, we still have not gotten any kind of shipping update.
I am just wondering, on average, how long it takes for an order to get to the buyer here. I have ordered from websites like Shien and etc, so I am not really stressing anything, but considering the fact that I sent customer support an e-mail 10 days ago and have...
