Update 3/30
Hey Friends,
Today’s the day. SoundID + Custom EQ update is available for Panda.
For this first update, you’ll need to use our OTW update tool, download the windows or Mac version here:
https://dro.ps/panda_updater_windows
https://dro.ps/panda_updater_mac
For best results, power off your panda, turn off BT on all paired devices (computer, ipad, phone, etc), and connect via the included USB-C cable and start the update process.
It should take about two minutes, and at the end you should see firmware version 20003 displayed:
Now, activate BT on the device that you’re using for SoundID (iphone, android, etc), connect Panda, and open the SoundID application (make sure you downloaded the update today).
At the bottom right of the SoundID app you’ll see a “+” and the word “connect” below it. Press there, and on the next menu you should see DROP Panda, and an option to connect on the next screen.
Initial connection and profile upload should take about...
If Massdrop can get Sennheisser to allow them to make a copy of the hd650, massdrop can definitely get logitech to make a left handed edition of the g502. There's always going to be the argument of ''use the ambidextrous design'' but its more expensive, the ergonomics are all wrong, and it's like telling everyone who doesn't use their right hand that they're worth less to society. I'm tired of being marginalised to the point that to win at an FPS I literally have to become temporarily right handed and end up with a migraine for some frags.

In my time browsing various headphone and audio forums, I’ve observed again and again a somewhat amusing contradiction. If you go to a sound science forum and ask “What is an audiophile,” they will tell you an audiophile makes purchases based on emotion and nostalgia, with little regard for research, price to performance, and specs which would allow a system to be EQ’d into any sound (including the “ideal” sound). Meanwhile, there’s an opposite camp that will happily buy anything just because it makes them feel good, because “that’s the point of music,” meanwhile they would define an “Audiophile” as someone who pays more attention to gear, specs, and listens to tone sweeps more than music. Conundrum! Paradox!
I’ll do you better: ‘WHY’ Audiophile?
The truth is the word “Audiophile” comes from two roots: Audio* is easy enough to understand, while -phile comes from the Greek root “philos,” which carries a meaning that doesn’t directly translate to...
I recently got the HD 660s2 and I must say that I’m in love. I’ve got plenty of dacs and amps set up around the house for listening but I’m trying to cover the mobile area here.
I believe that I have narrowed things down to 2 options that have the same price point with one having slightly better chips but less features. There is the THX Onyx that I believe has the better dac and is using the THX AAA-78 chip. Then there is the FIIO BTR7 which uses dual THX AAA-28’s. I’m not sure if the the onyx setup is dual or not. The BTR7 also has a balanced output to muddy up my decision.
So at a 199 price point on both, which do you think would be a good pairing?
An headphone amp for Sennheiser HD 650 and Topping dx3 pro
Hi. I am searching an headphone amp for a Sennheiser HD 650 and a Topping dx3 pro. I tested the JDS Atom Lab, but it seems to me a little cold and flat. Can you suggest me a warm and detailed (but not much expensive) amp?
-What is the warranty on this?
-Will this work with Q Audio 3020i for near field desktop system? They are 88 db sensitivity.
-Using Topping D50 DAC and Roon. Will it accept a line level output from my DAC without a preamp? Looks like it should... Also does anyone know the width distance between the feet?
-Trying to confirm it fits. My surface is a bit less than 12”. A bit of overhang is ok.
Thank you!
Hey Panda Fans,
We’re enamored to see how many people love their Panda Wireless headphones. When we designed this product we wanted a truly unique, audiophile-grade wireless offering and your reviews are largely aligned with that. That being said, we’re aware that there’s a handful of different operational and functional issues that may be interfering with your enjoyment of the headphones. Our team has been working hard behind the scenes on a firmware patch to address the commonly reported issues of connectivity (disconnections, skipping, etc.) and inconsistent behavior (control stick unresponsiveness, settings, etc).
We’ll have a follow up next week with more details about recent actions taken. In the meantime, if you’re having issues and want a replacement or refund, please reach out to our customer service team and they’ll be happy to help.
Hey all, I missed the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale and I am wondering when the next sale is.
Currently looking to get the Sennheiser hd58x or hd6xx, heard it dropped to $129/$179 respectively on Black Friday.
When is the next upcoming sale with similar prices?
Hello, I saw online someone recommended purchasing the drop pc38s and pairing it with a DAC (https://www.schiit.com/products/fulla-2). However I already have a goxlr. Can anyone advise on optimum pairing? Do I need the DAC if I already have a GoXlr?
There's a few good headphone options for EU customers, including the 6XX and 58X, but having the option for the Focal Elex is something I'd like to see in the future.
Recently had my headband snap on my Elex like just about everyone else. Drop tells me I'm a week out of warranty and to go ask Focal for help. Basically "Go fuck myself". After this level of customer service, I am done with Drop. Product offerings have been less and less as of late and this level of customer service is just trash. They don't want to back up their own products and want you to make repairs yourself. It's gotten to be a terrible business model that doesn't want to try and connect or care about the customer at all. Goodbye Drop. I'm done.
