My new EDC watch.
Used to be Luminox, but this A-5S is amazing. I switch off my watches quite often and I can't wait to get back to this Bertucchi in the rotation! What's not to like? 10 year lithium battery, tritium for night time, sapphire crystal, 200 meters water resist, screw down crown (I love to swim). It has everything. For those who think the pvd coating scratches off easily, maybe you shouldn't be using it as a hammer and stay away from machinery of any kind. This is a watch: a relatively delicate instrument for measuring time and should always be treated as such. I do, however, wish it had also been offered with an ivory dial and black hands and numbers. That would have been gorgeous. I see absolutely no downsides to this watch, especially at this price point.

Least tactical Bertucci watch.
I wanted a Tritium Bertucci watch. I have an A4 Illuminated but the old style with the whole dial in Superluminus but no Tritium. My older Luminox's tubes we're getting dim. One I bought in the 90's and one in the mid 2000's. I put in a Drop request for a Bertucci A4 Illuminated Tritium in Titanium. I missed the last drop. I saw the A5 Ballista drop and jumped in. I never considered a black plasma coated watch before. They scratch way too easily. I work in my watches. When I received my A5 I was honestly kinda bummed. Don't get me wrong it's a great looking watch but I can only use it for a casual dress watch. It's poorly designed to work in. Too delicate. It even breaks some of Bertucci's design hallmarks. Here's the cons: 1. It's super heavy. Stainless not Titanium. 2. It's super thickbas compared to the A4 Titanium case. No way to avoid banging it into things (hard metal things) when working in tight spaces. Combine this with black ion finish and it'll look like a Zebra, fast! 3. It's the only Bertucci design I've ever seen where the crystal sits above the bezel. I realize it's sapphire but sapphire still scratches. Combine raised crystal with super thickness and you'll find out how much a replacement sapphire crystal costs, fast. 4. The Tritium tubes are thinner than what I'm used to. Even though they're new and brighter by far my old fatter but half depleted Luminox are easier to read in the dark. I wish I had held out for the next A4 T Illuminated drop. It's a real combat watch that will look great for years. It's a much better design for rugged use. Then again, the A5 Ballista was only $229. Even if I can only wear it as a dress watch. Now what to do with my good dress watches??

AMAZING Watch!!!
First the Pros: I must say this watch feels great on the wrist and I don’t have very large wrists to begin with so it’s harder to find a watch of this style that will comfortably fit. This Watch fits the bill in every way I could imagine. The Tritium is bright to clearly see all 12 indicators and hr/min/sec hands as well. The sapphire crystal lens has been keeping up with physical tasks without a single visible blemish. I’ve owned a Marathon, Luminox, isobright and this thing destroys them all in fit and finish. Cons: while I don’t have much to say in the way of Cons but there was something with the strap that had some very hard/abrasive edges to it due to either the burn-in process or just a very hard edge that with time will red up the skin and will eventually scar it from constant rubbing. Be mindful of the band but other than that the Watch is Fantastic.

Really good watch and a great deal
The watch face is easy to read and the tritium tubes make it easy to read the time in the dark. I did replace the nylon band with a leather band but that was a personal choice.
