When you’re proud of your premium audiophile setup, a cheap-looking twist tie for cable management just won’t do. Instead, keep your headphones and IEMs neatly organized with this magnetic cable strap from Advanced Sound Read More
Like so many have said I wouldn't want a magnet rubbing against my wires which I'd want to keep as far as I can form a magnatuzing force.
Im not an expert by any means but I'd think just like rubbing a magnet against a metal would impart its magnetic qualities to that metal this would however small do the same to your wires...
Nice money clip though...
grizzlybusI'm wondering if magnatizing the cable would have any affects on its acoustics.
People say they can hear diffrance between coper and silver cables...
Me personally I've heard differences in cables using the same headphone but not copper vs silver I don't have enough cables nor do I have the ear to desern the diffrance.
In the audio world I'd want the absolutely best possible connection from source to my ear... And that includes no magnets next to my wire...
A sounds engineer can probably my worries are unwarranted it maybe... I just don't have the proof to disprove my own concern...
At the end of the day its a concern. A risk I don't want to take... I spent a pretty penny on my audio gear... And want the best out of them...
Actually putting a magnet next to a wire with electricity moving through it will have an affect on the sound. Under certain circumstances, if you have the cable coiled a certain way so as to make an inductor, and with the right cable capacitance, you can create an EQ filter which changes the response of your system.
And if you think your cables don't have capacitance, you do not understand what is electricity.
CalaverasgrandeThis is for when you're storing/transporting your cable, I would think. I never keep my cable wrapped by anything when actually using it.
To be honest, nobody will care when they see someone who wraps their cables in leather. It does not say “class”. It probably says “poor money manager”. :)
