Has anyone checked if this amp has decorative or working tubes? I guess the tubes are just to catch the eye, but they are not in the signal path.

marcadamYes, you’ll use this to improve the weak signal from your phone as it enters your larger amplifier.

marcadamIf you have a set of active speakers you can plug them straight in.

So is it just MM or iboth MM and MC?? (would the circuitry even change for MM vs MC? i feel like they may have different line voltage/impedance, but dont remember). Also, does the inverse-RIAA filter only get applied to the MM input and not the AUX? this is very important as signal input from AUX wouldnt want the filter applied.

AvitzaviThe input impedance of the two don’t match. Generally you need to seperate phono stages.
I see a gain selector but it's only MM-capable? It is kinda clever that there's an aux input as well, though.

DeweyCheatemNHoweNearly every cheap phono amp is at least mm capable...and with volume (gain) dial.
