Why haven't I received a shipping code or response from customer service for my order in over 3 weeks?
Hello, I apologize for using the community to post a customer service ticket essentially, but I haven't gotten any update from this website for my FIRST ORDER regarding some headphones I ordered. Essentially, my partner ordered me some gaming headphones ( Drop + EPOS PC38X) a few weeks ago. I have an attached screenshot of the confirmation code on this post. Normally I'd expect a shipping code to be provided, at most, a week later, but I decided to give this website a little bit more patience because to begin with, my girlfriend was skeptical, but after reading some posts on Reddit recommending this site, I convinced her it wasn't a scam. 3 weeks later, lo and behold, we still have not gotten any kind of shipping update. I am just wondering, on average, how long it takes for an order to get to the buyer here. I have ordered from websites like Shien and etc, so I am not really stressing anything, but considering the fact that I sent customer support an e-mail 10 days ago and have...

Is there really any difference between a Schiit Fulla and a Modi (in terms of dac part of things)? I'm going to invest in an amp and dac but I can't decide if I even need a dac or if I should get a Fulla and use it as a dac or just get a Modi. Having a Fulla would be nice in case I ever need a portable dac/amp combo but I don't know which option is better.
Just to get the bloody thing to NZ is going to cost $55 usd so I'd rather buy them both now so I don't have to pay for shipping again later.
Guess what, following tommy's instructions on poking point A in that pic I showed earlier to drop the wire has removed all rattles. I just ran the same Headphone shaker and Low frequency dynamic range check, no rattle at all in any of the frequencies. Ran Why So Serious, enjoyed it without the added rattling base line this time :)
Same port, same motherboard, same volume level. If it was caused by improper volume level set in MS Windows volume control or the motherboard audio chipset, how did a simple poke to the wire with a Qtip fix that?
I understand you guys are trying your best to solve this and working with us and AKG in getting to the bottom of this. But I still stand with I think a lot of members from this drop, that the Quality Control for this headphone production was below AKG's standard level we were used to and expecting.
Well I guess now you have one more stat to send to the AKG guys, that a Qtip poke fixes most of their rattling problems. :)
Thanks a ton tommy, spoilt and the rest of the gang to help me get rid of the rattle. :)
Cheers.
imo the QC for this isn't all that bad. It only looks bad because most the reports are from those who have rattling pairs and those who's fine don't actually post. Theres really only like 2-3% of faults.
@Will if you want to save the hassle for most of the people with the rattling issue you could always make a "guide/fix" on poking the diaphragm with a qtip. Saves MD/AKG having to pay for the shipping and saves the hassle of the buyer having to wait another couple weeks for something they should already have. If you really want to replicate the issue, just ask one of them to send you their rattling headphones rather than opening random ones from the warehouse, its a 3/1000 chance of getting one that rattles :P.
@shadowarrior you're welcome mate, happy to help.
Wow! It's great that solved the problem. All the troubleshooting being done in this thread is giving us great material to discuss with AKG. At the end of this month I'm headed to NAMM for meetings scheduled with AKG and being able to point to specific instances of problems and resolutions will be very important in persuading them to take a closer look at their QC process.
Even thought it's a small number of units effected, this is still unacceptable IMO and we need to help them step up.
Thanks for your post,
When the rattle is reproduced in the K7XX...
Literally, unplug one pair, plug in the other and the K7XX have the rattle, I've not been on here in a few days, so I'm catching up on the discussion a bit, but I might take a look for this ominous wire that's causing the issue and report back later today (currently at work)
