With Al Mar knives you never get great value, their always way overpriced for what your getting!! For example this Falcon Classic Gentleman's Folder costs $159.00 and only has AUS-8 blade steel. For that price I would expect at least CPM S30V of maybe even CPM S35VN. All you get with Al Mar knives no matter the price(Low or High) is just AUS-8 or VG-10.
tmc1511xExactly. I'm not really familiar with the history of Al Mar knives but these are some really overpriced shit. Come on. Aus8 for $160? I'd get a decent Zero Tolerance, Benchmade or Spyderco for this price. No wonder there are no takers for this drop.
zsoumyaHell with Al Mar knives, I'd personally go Spyderco. Spyderco knives have significantly better value, and use better more high end steels. For the same $159.95 you can get a Spyderco Gayle Bradley in CPM-M4 with carbon fiber handles.
Hey everyone- Thanks for participating in the discussion and making us aware of these deals. We were able to negotiate a better cost with the vendor, resulting in a lower drop price for the community. Stay tuned for more great Al Mar Knives later this month!
kyleemjI would love to see an Al Mar Hawk or Falcon Ultralight in one of the modern steels, perhaps S35VN rather than the AUS 8 that they use. They are a work of art but the AUS 8 is disappointing, especially since the blade is the heart of any knife.
