This 100-percent wool sweater pays homage to the garments worn by French sailors in the 1800s. The design was coined in Brittany, a seafaring region of France, but is now recognized around the world for its blue-and-white stripes, button-up shoulder, and crewneck construction. This version by Armor Lux, which has been producing clothing in Brittany since 1971, features a form-fitting design that gives the sweater a notably modern silhouette. The shoulder is fitted with four buttons made of natural corozo, a name for the ivory-like seed produced by the tagua palm tree.
