I had the regular model a while ago and got rid of it immediately. It does sound great, but that's probably the only good thing I have to say about it. The software is straight-up unusable. Think of the lag of early Android phones like Motorola Droid and Samsung phones before the Galaxy S series, and this thing is 10 times worse than those. I'm not exaggerating. And here's a video of it. I didn't make this video, but it demonstrates my point perfectly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nziqsoCMDgA
lisq199I own AK JR Black, and you know what s going, this type of scrolling doesn't work on this machine. Its NOT LAGGY, if you trying fast scrolling, system is not able recognize it, so AK JR think you are actually click, of course you can scroll down in your library but not so fast as on mobile phones. Its good machine, its not so fast, but its still ONE of the solids build I ever seen, especially deep black anodization looks perfect. There is one more tip, don't put inside this player high resolution album artwork, this is the main reason why he is so slow... seriously. My Santana album artwork got 1200 dpi, when I open it its nightmare. Sounds good, build quality is perfect, yeah its little bit slow, depending on your album artwork resolution - yes its weird.
Ok so KPOP aside, it states that this thing can power HD600s etc... Forgive my newbeness but is that true or wishful thinking? I use the Hd6xx and T50rp mk3 with a schiit stack and would be interested in something portable like this. Thanks
Tabiyou'd be surprised how easily you can power HD650's to quite loud volumes, your phone would probably do it. That said it won't do it well, and here's the issue, it probably drives them to a listenable level but I cant imagine the bass or dynamics would be anything to write home about. From memory the Fostex cans don't play well with portables, theyre a bit current hungry.
own this player (not the blue version but silver). They have dropped software support for this player and although it does sound great, there are a lot of new/better players for the money.
