We’d all like to improve the sound quality coming from our smartphones, but with traditional portable DAC/amps come additional cables that get in the way. Not so with the Astell&Kern XB10: a small circular device that wirelessly transmits audio data from your smartphone via Bluetooth. This DAC/amp supports the Qualcomm aptX HD Bluetooth codec, allowing for high-resolution 24-bit/48-kHz audio that’s faithful to the original file. Compatible with Android, iOS, and many other Bluetooth devices, the XB10 boasts both a standard 3.5-millimeter output and a balanced 2.5-millimeter TRRS output. It's especially great for newer iPhones without a 3.5-millimeter jack, as it can bypass the need for a dongle. It has a built-in microphone for hands-free calls, and comes with a clip for convenient attachment to your clothing.

Rather than simply amplifying the audio signal, the amplifier was designed with a "driving" concept to amplify weak signals and power difficult-to-drive high-impedance headphones. A strong signal is required to drive headphones with a high impedance. The XB10’s analog amplifier is more than capable of handling the task.
