SeijuroYeah that's the one reason why I'm not getting them. I just moved on from non-detachable cables, now I don't want to go back.

I own the Japanese-market version (ATH-A500Z), these are really good for the price. They do sound a bit dark and bassy compared to my ATH-AD700X and ATH-A1000Z.

Love the sound of the 550z's but they're very tight against my ears. Anyone found a way to adjust the pressure on the ears?

Hey Massdrop, it would be helpful if you'd show these on a human head so we could gauge their size. It's hard to understand how big they are without some frame of reference that head-shaped.

Thanks for the pics. You look upset, though. Do they disappoint? The only thing that disappointed me about the A1000z is they leave indents my hair.

ExaiI only own the A500Z (aka 550Z) and A1000Z but I heard that the A990Z is more "fun", the A550Z is more neutral. Though I would suggest the A1000Z over the two if you can afford it.
