Powered by USB, stocked with high-quality components, and small enough to slip in your pocket, the Audioengine D3 DAC/amp gives you a tiny attachment that vastly expands your computer’s output. After plugging in through the USB input, the D3 bypasses your computer’s sound card in favor of a superior processing system. Known for its low noise and high fidelity, the integrated AK4396 DAC chip can handle up to 192-kHz/24-bit. When coupled with double redundancy power conversion, a low-noise LME49726 opamp, and a well-regarded USB controller (the TI1020B), it makes for more vivid details and a wider soundstage than before.

Even though it’s only powered through your USB port, the D3 can drive headphones with an impedance as low as 12 ohms or any speaker system with an analog input. It's also outfitted with a sample rate indicator and a computer volume control, so you can keep track of your tracks and adjust the sound level without skipping through settings.
