I've had this DAC/headphone amp for a few years now and it has worked flawlessly. It sounds good too, and the volume-controlled variable RCA outputs is very useful for use with powered speakers. Honestly, I doubt many people could hear the difference between DACs in a blind A/B/X comparison, especially with anything less than world class headphones or monitors.
Well, Massdrop cross-shipped me the replacement unit as promised and it works great. Noise floor gets a little high (squeaky high frequencies) if I CRANK it up, but not such that if I had quiet music playing through it the music wouldn't deafen me before I could hear the squeal.
hahahahah. so Aune is telling me to take it apart. I'm like "Uh, massdrop guys, what do you think?" They shrug and go "Well, you might as well, before we have to replace it FOR you, if that's what they're saying"
Mine works perfectly fine with my Windows7 laptop. Plugged it in and my laptop recognized it immediately without any driver installed. Both pline and line out work.
