Beluga whales are known for their domed cranium, where they get their echolocation ability. While this knife may not be able to determine location via sonar, it can certainly make some noise on the job Read More
Bestech makes some of the best budget knives imo and I own several models. The beluga does have a nice blade shape, its a smaller knife, however I do not care for the thicker handle and will be selling mine for that reason alone. Also I hope BT sticks with the D2/ G10 on their knives rather than experimenting with 12c27 and some models with FRN handles which is a step down in materials. Of all the models I own this one and the war wolf are the only two I didn't care for once I got them in hand Which are personal preferences, otherwise I really like what bestech is doing!
I like this knife being on the beefier side. My hands are too big to hold onto to some skinny little handle. I like the thicker liners and locking mechanism. Its no light weight for its size and some may think too heavy for an edc but its fine for me. The fit and finish was good, not great with some discoloration on the blade. But that's cosmetic only and only bothers me when my OCD kicks into overdrive. It came very sharp, perfectly centered, locks up well with good detent and release with smooth action and a comfortable handle IMO. Would have like to have seen it in 14c28n instead of 12c27 but its still good steel. I purchased the satin wash with no black on the and black handles. i think i might pull the trigger again when it comes back around but getting green. Brown handles?? Meh, no thanks.
Haven't had to sharpen it yet just a touch up with a leather strop and hit with the ceramic rod. Overall, I think its a quality knife at a good price.
