Of this and the other massdrop headpohones, which would you guys recommend for gaming? I play a lot of FPS and RPG games, I hope there is one that can be a good fit for both genres :-)
MrP627Dt 880 is pretty much the best bang for the buck if you ask me. Superb sound, comfort and buildquality the only bad thing about this is the non removeable cable.
MrP627If you need to communicate with team-mates in FPS PVP games, get the Philips SHP9500 + Cable Boom Microphone (V-Moda compatible version). This combination is the best bang for the buck, even better than PC37X sold by Massdrop. The SHP9500 costs $54 at Amazon during BF deals. It has a detachable 3.5mm cable which makes it compatible with generic boom mics. The Cable Boom Mic is around ~$20 which also works with Audio Technica HPs in case you go that route.
(I realize the question was posted on 2018. OP probably doesn't need an answer anymore.)
gyroscopicsActually in the market again for some headphones! I just tried purchasing the HE4XXs but apparently it can't be shipped to my country. Actually all the headphones can't be shipped to my country anymore which is an absolute bummer. :-( I found a local supplier who offered a fair price for a Beyerdynamic Team TYGR set though. Mic seems outstanding and he says the headphones are a retuned DT990. The only real caveat I see atm is that the cable is not removable.
FlorianskiThanks for replying, I hope you don't mind but I have been seeing the SHP9500 recommended by a lot of people lately, how's the sound signature of those headphones? Just curious. For now I am wrestling with getting a HE4xx (never tried a planar before) over at ebay or just go ahead with Team TYGR. I had the chance to test out the TYGRs and I really loved how they sounded. Everything seemed well balanced with a bit of emphasis on the bass which I liked. The cups did not completely encapsulate my ears as I felt a bit of my earlobes being pressed but they were still pretty comfortable.
