I've finally accepted these over my E3000 and comfortable KC09. EQ a bit, with gold filters and foam tips, to tame spike and lower mid bass.

I finally got my ship notification 4 days ago, however it has not been picked up by usps yet. It looks like the tracking has only been created not really shipped. Is anyone else having this issue.? Also is this how most Massdrop purchases work? By that I mean the timeline isn’t very firm and you may end up waiting a lot longer than expected?

The gold filters are meant to give it a bit of a bass boost while lowering/ subduing the highs.

Fwiw, I read a review on Head- Fi re the option of buying the LZ A5 filters ($20 for 4 filters). I went ahead and ordered them from Penon Audio. Here's the Head-Fi link (scroll down to the 6th review by B9Scrambler): https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/bgvp-dmg.23283/reviews

I just received my BGVP DMG 2 weeks ago. I noticed that the connection pin to the cable came off quite easily often. Is this normal for a single pin connector? It's quite annoying especially when you are using it on the go and pinning the cable back to the IEM is troublesome.

I received my BGVP DMG maybe a months ago, sound is good, I am consider to buy the balanced cable for using on my Pioneer XDP-30R player, any comments? By the way, I don't even know when I was lost it, the part was screwed to the main unit.... So weird.

You most likely will not get any improvement with balanced vs se. These do not require a lot of power to operate so that extra boost from xlr will not do anything. The only reason you'd pay for balanced cables is if you have a very "noisey" area full of air waves and electronic signals and you need that noise cancellation from balanced.

Just had my BGVP DMG's today, tested it with stock tips, stock nozzles and stock cables. I was expecting based on all reviews and hype I read that the bass was really good right out from the box and comparing it to my Ibasso IT01 which I really love. My initial reviews on this is it has a natural flat and clear sound with some boost on the treble side. The bass is not what I have expected to rival the IT01. I notice a bit of sibilance whenever I hear vocals and cymbals on the drums, it is noticeable compared to IT01 which has less treble but more focused on sub bass. I'm still adjusting to this new flat and clear sounding signature but overall these are awesome value for the money. I used the gold nozzle and replaced the stock tips with spinfit cp145 and there it is, I found the sound I want.

I was thinking of giving away the BGVP DMG so I changed the filter back to stock. While changing filters, I found a black round sticker closing off one of the 2xBA vent from only one side of the IEM. After taking it out the IEM no longer sounds strange on the stock filter. Does anyone know if these black round stickers are meant to be on the vents?

Yeah, they do. For some used to the mids of Sennheiser being more forward may feel they are too pushed back. I prefer my mids to be pulled back just a tad but the DMG may have pulled them back a bit too much overall. It's not the worst I've heard and they still have air and clarity but this is where they can get too warm or hot in the treble depending on the track due to this. I think it'll really boil down to the music you listen to that determines how much this'll bother you. For me, it was just a bit too much. The PX is one of my faves although I do EQ for some more meat in the low end. Otherwise, they're a fun, colored IEM that just sounds different than my other stuff.

These were a bit disappointing. On the plus side they are very well made and comfortable, and have a great cable. The problem is the overbearing bass that dominates the sound signature. It depends on the recording but more often than not the bass is too emphasized for my liking. I find that the filters don't affect the bass very much. For some good bass that that doesn't bleed into the mids I'll use the King Pro (excellent sub bass rumble), or the BQEYZ KC2 (who comes up with these names?) or even the KZ AS06 at less than half the price. My favourites remain the LZ A4 that come with some effective filters for bass and treble, although they're about 50% more expensive than the DMG.

Yikes. Was hit with $34 in tariffs. Not necessarily worth it to buy it through MassDrop then. Hopefully it was worth the effort and ridiculous $9.95 CBSA handling fee. I'm starting to move away from buying from MassDrop simply because every single package (and I do mean every) I order from them is now subject to opening or tariffs from the CBSA.

I have always been taxed for food, so not sure why except food? But I know for sure no tax on raw coffee/tea products. For Ontarians, there is also the no PST for processed food below $4 . But we still have to pay GST. Which province/ territory are you from? No tax on food! I will move to your place after I retire.

Can anyone comment on width of the nozzles? Larger nozzles like on the T2 don’t fit my ears but narrower ones like the EDC or P2 work well for me.

bought to be shipped to the UK. I used https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/ as i was scared of being fooked by customs and it calculated £15 which was bang on the mark. You have to add on the £8 royal mail fee so all in all i paid $103 for the earphones and then £23 customs so not that bad really. Will be usng this site again along side the calculator.

Has anyone been able to get an out-of-warranty monitor replacement? My right side monitor has connectivity issues (confirmed this it is not a cable issue) and I am hopeful of getting a replacement monitor. I don't want my left side monitor to go to waste!

I have both and the bass is much better on the DMG. There is a good sustained rumble without being overbearing or muddy. The overall soundstage is much more open and wide with DMGs as well. I just tested the difference the other day and the DMGs are a pretty big step up.

Fair comment - I do have a couple of DAP's, but I do most of my listening with IEMs 'on the go' and I listen to streaming a lot. That being said, the DMG did not 'scale' a lot on my home rig, but my Noble X does. As I said before, I think the FH5 and Orion are better, but for the price the DMG is a great deal.

I use the gold filters and foam tips on the DMG for the tamest highs and for me it works well for rock music. I wouldn't know about metal or hair bands. The silver and blue filters had too peaky highs for me, but were still better than the TRN80, which I think could have been really good if they'da backed off the treble peaks.

They are a bit harsh at times. I do listen to a lot of rock and blues- loud. Actually i think one of the drivers in the left may be damaged- on one song with a piano intro there's a bit of a "rattling" sound. I plan on reversing the wires to see if it's the IEM or the recording but i don't hear that distortion on speakers or headphones. Is it uncommon for a driver in these types of IEM's to go bad? It's almost a rattling sound- almost as if something is loose in the housing.
