Lightweight Ice Axes in 3 Lengths
Two of the lightest ice axes in the world, the CAMP Corsa and Corsa Nanotech are designed for ski mountaineering and glacier travel. They can be used as anchors for glacier rescue and traversing cornices, and come especially in handy for snow travel and self-arrest. Each one features a forged 7075 aluminum pick and adze, along with a CC4U wear indicator that warns when the pick is dull beyond the safe limit. Thanks to its scant 7.2-ounce weight, the Corsa is great for adventure racing, but is not recommended for ice climbing, rugged mixed terrain, or intense step chipping. For those, opt for the Corsa Nanotech, which has Sandvik Nanoflex steel reinforcements on the pick and spike for increased durability and strength. Plus, its aggressive single-curve shaft provides better clearance without interfering with walking or plunging performance.
