When trying to charging the C5, I am experiencing the same loud clicking sound others have reported.

I'm not in on this group buy, but I love MassDrop.. glad you guys are audiophiles and care for good quality stuff. Not to bash on B&B, but their fanbase drives me wild.

New to audiophile community. Would it be better to invest in a good player first or a good amp? And how does this amp differ from others in current and earlier drops? (What do you guys look for when purchasing an amp?)

Pantsu_BearThis amp has been highly regarded, but judging from the description of whats included this is revision 1.0, although there is nothing different internally, 2.0 comes with a pouch and changes to the plastic holding outside.
Also at this price, im better off buying locally for 169AU$ shipped.

ChorongActually, the plastic piece is the same in both revisions. It's just that when some units were being put together, the workers weren't fully snapping the plastic piece on and it caused problems for some people.

The vendor was able to ship the group's order and it is now en route to our warehouse. ETA for these is 11/14 barring any delays on the way. We will keep an eye on tracking and update the group accordingly.

We’ve submitted our order for Cayin C5 Portable Amp + TTPOD T1-E IEM shortly after the drop ended.
Now that the order has been placed, our vendor is preparing it for shipment. In the meantime, we will also be getting our warehouse ready to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as it arrives.
Expect an update from us on 11/12 or sooner if something comes up.

I'm in at $129. And that is not $30 off at the lowest drop. Don't like paying a penny for something that I don't want and won't use. Don't get why M-drop cannot at the very least mandate to every seller that if they cannot beat Amazon's price by at least 15% then don't bother offering it on M-drop.

CompassionatorWell kind sir, I don't know how much you know about world geography, but many things on Amazon, which in itself is a wonderful service, do not ship outside the US.
So while these may not be useful to you, they are actually decent deals made available to the obviously-less-important people not in your amazing country.

kceatevaHow Is This For A choice? You want those IEMS right? They are available on different drop right now! You can buy that and buy this amp without the headphones. And tthose of us whom do not want or need those IEMs can buy just the amp.

I bet it would be unlocked at lowest price if it was $129. Right now, it has 2 buyers committed at probably higher profit margin. But it would make more business sense at $129 price point and sale more, way more, in numbers sold, wouldn't it? Even at lower margin, higher number in sales will be better than making money on 2 sales made on higher profit margin. I was intent on buying this since last drop after doing some research, but not at this price. It won't matter. I will have to buy from amazon since I am mentally committed by massdrop; I just won't be physically committed here.

If we're not the lowest price, we typically cancel the drop and direct members to purchase directly. The Bottlehead Crack drop is a recent example of such a happening.
In this case, I think we're still the lowest price option, and working directly with the manufacturer on the drop. I appreciate and read all discussions on the audiophile products that we list, but at this point anything more on price is really just beating a dead horse.
I've talked to Cayin and they're adamant on the price for this drop. I've let them know what the community wants, so if/when the product comes back again due to a large amount of member requests or a desire by Cayin to list we'll see if I can get them to budge.

andypak01We work direct with a lot of the Chinese manufacturers. Cayin has requested us to list their products at a specified MAP, $159.99 in the case of the C5.
Removing the TTPOD doesn't change this, we just thought it would be one way of improving value for our members. We'll talk to Cayin further, but if was as simple as being able to take off the TTPOD and reduce the cost by $30 it would have been a no-brainer.

Danny_LiuFair Enough. I will just have to purchase mine from Amazon. For Californian buyer, cost difference is higher for this deal at $159 plus tax with IEMs that won't be used. Thank you for your prompt response and getting me introduced to this Brand. I would not have looked at this amp otherwise.
