The very BEST cigar cutters are made by Xikar.....period, end of story. That also goes for cigar lighters. Stay away from Colibri....once upon a time they were considered a pretty good brand but they're absolute crap these days and won't last. I've had the same Xikar cigar cutter and Xikar lighter for 11 years and they work as well today as the day I purchased them. Save your money here.

Well by all means argue your side by pointing out my spelling mistakes instead of attacking the substance of what I said. It's nice to see the grammar police raise their head. Now, I bow to your superior experience of 45 years of smoking. I only have 31 years of smoking cigars. But if we are trying to impress everyone with our smoking creds I grew up in a cigar smoking culture. Big whop.
Not everything that Colibri makes is "crap". This is one of them. Have you seen it in person? As I pointed out, I was not the only person that thought so. And not everything that Xikar makes is gold. I direct your attention to the Pipeline, which is a POS. It is a copy of a Corona "Old Boy" which is a copy of a Dunhill. And often does not work past three months. So it is not "end of story".
Wanted to edit this and add one more point. I do not think I ever said the phrase "end of story" offended me. I think adding such a absolutist phrase adds nothing to a comment and is not fair when assessing a product.

rayce444Hmm... don't know about that. Xikars are nice, but I'll take a Palio any day of the week.

Anyone that has not seen one of these in person and is thinking of buying one there are several YouTube reviews on it. Just search "Colibri v cut". The ones I have seen have been positive. I have seen this model in person at Iwan Reese and would have purchased at the time if I had not owned a Xikar. It actually feels more substantial in the hand. I am in on this drop.

Heavier Nothing stopping you from having a couple of hours to yourself a week. Everyone works hard, everyone needs a little reset time for themselves otherwise you'll feel like a robot doing the same menial tasks. Burn one to conquer burn out!

Buy one from cigarbid.com. Not worth the price or waiting for it to ship.

I love this cutter but mine broke after a few weeks of use. The spring open action when pushing the button doesn’t work. I now have to manually pry it open to use. Love the cut but disappointed in the product failure.

webb264Send it back - or take it to a reputable cigar shop - most will swap it out for you.

Already own this. Favorite cutter by far. I have the xikar as well, but I like how deep and "crisp" my Colibri cuts

I own two of these. In my opinion they produce the best cut on the market. There are caveats however. After time and much use (I typically smoke 3 to 4 cigars daily) the screws come loose. I've sent one back to Colibri for repair. They sent it back refurbished and a new one in the mean time. The original eventually went bad again, but I was able to trade it out for a new one at a local brick and mortar that sells them. The screws are torx type and take 2 small torx screw drivers to keep tight. Granted, this is after months of daily use, but it has been an issue. If you have the torx screw drivers it is no big deal to keep them tightened.

Phenix_CigarsIt might be worth trying to put a little loctite or threadlocker on the screws to prevent them backing out. However these are some nice looking cutters and it would seem they shouldn't need that.

I agree that Xikar makes great cutters. Not sure about Colibri.
