Vanness is selling the Conway Stewart Series 100 at $400. Asking for $20 more is a tough sell.

It’s a very nice looking pen, but I just can’t justify the price.

I would expect something other than a cartridge/converter filler for this kind of money. Nice looker though.

MaltmanQuite a few pens in this, and even higher ranges, are c/c. I agree that I'd prefer it was a piston filler, but you can't expect it.

Considering that Conway Stewart ceased trading a few years ago, I wonder what the guarantee associated with this pen looks like?

jbourneThe Conway Stewart name and remaining pen stock are now sold by a reputable company trading as Bespoke British Pens. It is their 'flag' nib that is fitted to the pen in this drop. I've not tried the new nibs properly but the pens I've seen so far feel just like the latter products of the late Conway Stewart. Edited for typos.

JNCGI own a CS/Bespoke British Pens with a gold flag nib (medium), and it is on the "wet" side and very, very smooth. I bought the pen from Vanness about a year and a half ago.

For anyone wondering; this pen is more reminiscent of the Friesian cow that used to be a commonly seen Dutch milking breed often seen in some parts of the British countryside. Now popularly referred to as Holsteins as they normally share the black/ white coat. Most Friesians have now been bred with Holsteins anyway but that is irrelevant here. The Friesian horse is all black so this was named after the cow! Nice pen by the way!

No problem, I'm full of random/ useless info. I should maybe have said that this was a comment directed at the description of this drop which is somewhat misleading though irrelevant to the pen itself.
