what was the cost of this drop?

laserlord$129.99 + ($45 for Midi) + $6.99 shipping. I am guessing this drop might be harder to do again because it seemed like MD was going through a 3rd party vendor and not the manufacturer. That vendor might not have stock anymore.

ArthurMThank you!
And for anyone else who might come across this thread - tldr: My order got messed up. MassDrop made it right. There was some confusion and it took a little back & forth but everything got taken care of.
And as an aside: MassDrop seems be experiencing some growing pains. I feel like their active user (customer?) base is growing much faster than any reasonable ability to hire logistics and customer service people. So in the event that something gets messed up (and with a model like this something will inevitably get messed up) a fix may take longer than you might be accustomed. But they do seem to be actively working to fix any problems. And from my experience they definitely seem to care about their customers.

We are back with a quick update. All Pocket Pianos have already been shipped out to you all! The only things outstanding now are the cable add-ons. These will ship out separately.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 7/8 or sooner if something comes up.

ArthurMAh, crap. I already opened a support ticket about the missing cables, since I only checked my transactions assuming it was the best place for that sort of info. :(
Sorry for the noise. As I mentioned in the ticket, though, I love this little music box. Thanks for the drop.

I think that the $45 for the midi upgrade is very reasonable and the main reason why I joined this drop. I already own one Pocket Piano without midi, as long as the units are getting sold whether directly from the manufacturer or from a 3rd party who purchased them from manufacturer, I really don't see what the issue is.

I'm sure Critter and Guitari are not happy about their already reasonably priced Pocket Piano being de-valued. I would encourage customers to purchase through a dealer that is on the up-and-up and is endorsed by C&G

efoxxxYeah, if they're not coming from the manufacturer for a bulk discount, how is this vendor cutting such a deal? Did they come off the back of a truck? Unless Critter's selling to vendors at insanely low rates, what is the incentive for the vendor to make almost no profit?
So the people that make this item do not know it is being sold here?

So what is going on here? Are these legit? I've signed up for this drop but want no part of it if there's something nefarious going on.

pbelbustiYeah, its a bit sketchy when the source of the product is too sensitive to speak about in front of the consumer.

pbelbustiTo clarify,
These are legitimate Pocket Pianos, please do not be alarmed. The confusion was only in regards to the vendor who we purchase them from, not as to their quality or their legitimacy.
At Massdrop we prefer to work directly with a manufacturer whenever possible. However, Critter & Guitari does not wish to work with us at this time. We purchase these through another vendor and we will update the community if there should arise any issues.
Thanks for the question!
