The Stone knives look fantastic and hold their edge well. This bread knife has really nice balance. But buying them online is a bit of a crapshoot because they are mass-produced and quality control is a bit lax: they're not always straight and not as precisely forged and ground as higher end products.
Like all Curtis Stone products this knife is fantastic. Razor sharp, smooth cutting. I also own the Stone series chef’s knife. They are my favorite knives.
This is my third Stone Series knife. I also own a small serrated utility knife and small plain knife. I love the look and the way these knives feel to the hand. They hold their edge really well. I had the two smaller knives for around a year and haven't had to sharpen them, just hone them with a ceramic rod. The bread knife is so sharp and cuts so effortlessly that I'm especially careful with it.
